I thought this was amusing

OK - I've used my winch (12,000 lb Milemarker Hydraulic) about 7-8 times in the past 3 months... . nothing very BIG - BUT today I get a call from my oldest son that a man he knows is stuck in the park by his house... ...

Stuck in the park..... how did he get there... . I mean this is a great neighborhood park - no driving on the manicured fields... . HOWEVER... he was in a WHEELCHAIR... I mean a full blown wheel chair - he mentioned that it weigned a couple hundred pounds and he was a big man - NOT obese - but about 6'5 and 300+..... he and his wife were walking in the park and their 13 year old black lab went over to get something in the grass and apparently he followed her - and went about 15 feet before bogged down.....

When I got there my son and several other guys - had the wheelchair hooked up to some big commercial tow straps... . we had to put some plywood at the back of the wheelchair as there were some small wheels that looked like they could be broken if pulled sideways... .

Well we managed to pull him out in no time..... as you would think... .

Now never in my wildest dreams, I had never thought about winching a Wheel Chair.....

Hammer, granted,"Keep off the Grass" was not a factor in this case, "Don't Bend Over" also would not be be appropriate, just the odd job out of the Office, at least one gets to get outdoors at times, cherish it for what it"s worth. (was a Bill tendered?) (just to keep up to date)

No PIctures - darn it.......

and they are great people - they wanted to pay us - how could we take anything from these great folks..... he was paralysed in Korea... ... just the salt of the earth sort of a man - and wife with a great great dog... ... I was just fortuante to be there at the right time... ... . BUT I do wish I would have had photos - BUT I'm afraid they would have been embarassed... ...
