Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Stratopore Filter?

Purchased a Stratopore filter (by mistake????) for my '95.

Will it work, or must I return it for a Microglass?

I have been using them for the last 35k on my 12v. Stratapore is the best filter Fleetguard makes for both the 12v and 24v applications. Go ahead and use it with the confidence knowing it is arguably one of the best filters to use on your truck.

I agree with Cooker. I use them too. My local Cummins shop also recommends Stratapore for 12 valves and even charges 50¢ less than for a Microglass.

So, I am not the only 12 valver using stratapore. Best filter for my truck, IMO.

I've used them since they came out on my 97, and change every 6000. Supposed to have finer filtration, more dirt holding capacity, stronger case, and better filtration when cold. I don't have a Cummins shop nearby, but the Case-IH tractor dealer carries them. They're called "Micro-loc Ultra" & I think the number is J934430 or something like that. It's painted Cummins black w/silver lettering. You'll recognize it on the shelf. About $9. 75

You might want to check the prices at a big rig shop. I get my Stratapore filters for less than $8 at the Peterbilt shop here in Eureka.

Don't waste your time at the Pete shop in KC, all they had for my truck were Baldwin filters with paper filter media. They spent 15 minutes in the book trying to figure out what I was talking about, & I finally gave up & left.

Got a Stratapore at Truck Country (Freightliner). It was also less than $8. Got a LF 3553 the last time I changed the oil at Deere (their #PMLF3553), just under $10.
