Just purchased a new to me 2007 truck, see signature below. It does not have bluetooth. Curious if there is a way to add bluetooth to give the ability of streaming music from my iPhone and play through the truck audio.

My son has one that has to be recharged where it has a battery, where the "Himbox" uses 12V from vehicle...

There is a setting somewhere on your phone to send only music to the "Himbox", otherwise any incoming phone calls will try to route thru it as well...

I didn’t realize or remember that some Ram radios didn’t have the “Aux In” on the front panel.

What is the 3 letter code on the radio face?? I’ll see if I can find a workaround...

I googled around for "Chrysler bluetooth interface" and found several that plug into the rear AUX IN of the head unit.

I have purchased this device from Amazon a Nulaxy Bluetooth FM Transmitter model KM29. I have used this for two years now and this product has worked great. There are several different models to choose from Nulaxy, but I like this one the best. One nice feature of the KM29 is that this unit monitor's the car voltage for you. I think I purchase this for under $20.00.

That looks like a good solution Jim!!

I found a couple Aux In kits that require removal of the radio and plug into the unused CD changer port on the radio rear. Then they required a 12V source as well.

The transmitter looks like the way to go...

We have a similar unit, model KM18, in every vehicle we own. You can Bluetooth music and receive and make calls handsfree. The one linked below has an on/off switch which is a big improvement. The one without the switch I kept having to plug it in and take it out. Now I just leave it in. It also tells you vehicle voltage when it’s first turned on. I HIGHLY recommend it.

I forgot to mention since we do not smoke, the FM transmitter is plugged into the cigarette/Cigar lighter. This is a switched on off accessory circuit from the key ignition so, you do not need to turn the FM transmitter off when exiting from the vehicle.

The switch is more than that to me. When the phone is connected to take or make a call with the Bluetooth, you either can’t listen to a regular radio station or you can’t hear when you get a notification. It’s quicker with my phone to leave the transmitter off and the Bluetooth on on the phone. I can listen to my local sports talk, hear when I get a text or email, and if I get a call all I have to do is turn the transmitter on and change the radio station.

Before the switch, I had to pull the transmitter out just enough for it to lose contact and push it back in to turn it on.

Scott, The only person who would even dare to call me is my wife. My wife will only call if the house is burning down or something else of serious business! Everyone else knows I won't answer the phone if I am driving, in fact I hardly will answer the phone at all at home.

This is just me, being I was raised with no phone as a kid, I have learned back than it will not control my life.

I wasn’t disagreeing with your previous post, just wanted to explain my ONLY issue I’ve had with the Bluetooth transmitters. I tend to get calls from family and work related calls while I’m driving and the handsfree feature works great. I guess I could also stream my local talk radio and run it through the Bluetooth, too, then it wouldn’t be an issue at all.
