Competition HT3B/26 part number

Off Roading Air Bag (Will it blow)

Can someone do some clarification on the rules for 2005?? The 2. 8 compressor housing inlet has me a little confused. Will an HX50 fall in the category? Heck I was thinking the stocker(HX35) was bigger than that. What is the MWE?? I thought the big rule was it had to bolt directly to the exhaust manifold(no weld, redrills, etc) I am truly trying to build a street stock truck that is very capable on the road for a driver, and this rule seems very weird to me. I mean all along I felt we should do classes similar to the tractors(3 inch single, 4 inch single etc, etc. ) By changing the rules all the time, it kind of defeats the idea of street stock(class that does not require big coin to compete). I really don't have the funds to compete with the Haisleys, Mitchells, Mahoneys, Scheids etc, etc.

Thanks

Dan

MWE = Map Width Enhancement, It is the little ring in the throat of the inlet side of the turbo. Varying the size and placement or not having one can make a big differece how the turbo performs. I am pretty sure 35's 40's and some 50's all fit under 2. 8 along with s-300's.

What class rules are you trying to run under? DHRA is 2. 8 with any adaptor plate. This makes it cheaper to run but opens up the class for more power with chargers that are NOT street friendly.

DHRA "Street" class means street legal, not street stock.

A stocker can pull, but the class is designed for the HOT trucks, which are the majority of DHRA pullers.

Next thing, is a charger with a 2. 8 inducer bore, streetable? I thought no, but after 300 miles, my answer is YES, and it is a lot of fun!!! It is hard on tires, though.

After the two test pulls last year, the pullers voted on what needed changed for the 05 season. We will see how they work this year, and lock them down for 2 years if they work out well.

There are no Mahoneys pulling Diesels.

Gene, sorry about the last name mess up. Thanks for the email and I guess you nailed it on the head with the lock down of the rules for 2 years. Can you give any specifics about the charger you are running? Are you pulling in the street class this year? I understand, I mean i don't plan on bringing in a stock truck, just want to see the trucks that guys could drive daily, that doesn't light the charger at 4000 rpm, or have 20k in internal engine work. That is what the Pro street is for.

I got the charger from Haisleys, and I really would rather have them answer specific questions about it.

Yes, I will be in the street class, and no, It doesn't need 4000 to light. On my engine, with winter fuel settings still, it hits about 2500, and pulls hard to 4000, where I run out of fuel. Hopefully, that will be taken care of by IRP. Going to need all of the 4500rpm limit, to battle the Duramaxes, and those built Allisons. .

I don't have any dyno numbers, but,( dare I say it?) It seems to pull harder than my old Piers 40/H3 twin set up.

Can't wait to put some fuel to it, soon, soon.

Listing me with those names, while flattering, has every puller that reads this board spitting their bevarages on the keyboard, and LTAO. :-laf

I would guess I have a less than average puller budget, or I wouldn't be running a 4 year old engine, and dropping to the street class! Or FINALLY getting a front locker in, after 5 years of running an open.

You pronounce the name like the song.....

Yea, that, was thinking one thing, and typing another. There is no limit on wheel size, as long as the inducer bore is bushed down to 2. 8.

There will be no street class this year in DHRA. With the change from the 2. 5 no adapter plate to the 2. 8 inducer size and adapter plates the top trucks will not be driven on the street. You will need to make 650+ hp to compete.

I beg to differ, all the top trucks (dmaxs) will be daily drivers. Their going to get into 4th gear now, been running 3rd.

I think the street class zstroken is asking about is the Indiana Super Farm class but its not a street class its more like a Super Street or Super Stock class and Im not really sure about the rules becuase they keep changing them.

I concour Mr. Money :-laf a 2. 8 is very streetable if setup right, or larger for that matter.

David, whats up with ADM? Muncie slackin' again

Mfunderburgh, what will you be pulling this years the Dmax or the Cummins?

I can't see anyone pulling a 15,000 lb trailer will a 2. 8 turbo.

My boloney has a first name it's O-S-C-A-R,

Well, if thats the case, I have nothing to do with that class!

They have a 2. 8 rule also?

Yes they also have the 2. 8 inducer with an adapter rule for the 8000lb Pro Stock Diesel Class. This is one of the classes that alot of Haisley built trucks pull in it was a pretty good class last year.

Both, dont have a charger on my dmax right now (later in the summer i hope) so i'm holding out on pulling it at anything other than stock turbo classes or 2. 5 charger classes, and will probably just let a friend pull it while i run the cummins. I've road in the ATS truck way up in the mountains and there was no lag so i wouldnt be afraid of putting one on my hauler/puller dmax. Matt
