Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) strong enough clutch!!!!

i have a 1996 high output, with a fuel plate (custom ground at home):-laf ground all the way off (for biggest power gain) , straight pipe, afe stage 1 ..... i had a new clutch installed in my nv4500, pressure plate and all that, the guy told me it was a gold series, and had alot more clamping force than the factory clutch... . well to make a long story short..... i smoked the new clutch in 5th gear... #@$%!... i dont do sled pulls ..... what would be the best clutch for the money? surely i dont need a $2000. 00 clutch anyone use ceramic? i hear they dont have this problem... . any help would be appreciated... thanks alot... .

Con OFE, or Con FE

why on the south bend website that it doesent reccomend these clutches for H. O. motors, does this mean they will not warranty these? anybody know if the con fe will hold up to this, and approx. how much is the con fe?

You said you had the gold series, which is probably the LUK Pro Gold, same brand as OEM, but a better clutch. Mine has held up good for a long time, but have the ConO in the shop waiting to be installed.

What do you mean by 1996 High output? The 1996 manuals were 215 designations. There was only one type of manual offered in the 94-98 12V

SFlowers I would upgrade to the 13" clutch that all 2001+ 6-speed trucks 24V trucks came with. It's available from South Bend. I put one in my '96 with a Con FE & it drives easy & holding great.

I think last time I checked you couldn't get a con OFE or Fe without the 13" clutch.
