Hello, trailered two bikes in 6 x 10 out to Colorado,NEVER exceded 1100 Degrees,pre-turbo,all was fine. Parked truck overnite, went to start ablosutely no power or boost, awful lot of black smoke. i checked all visible possibilities, hoses, clamps. Took intake hose off, fins on turbo still spin freely both directions. Fuel pressure is still same as when i left,14lbs @ idle, but no boost reading at all. What should check for... ... .....

It sounds more like a major boost leak then a blown turbo.

Check for cuts in your intake boots. They are all closed up when idle but when you open up, so do they. ;)

Say hello to CO. for me. I make it out there every year. was ther in Dec. and miss it already.

on edit:

Also check the Intake air gasket. and heater grid gasket below the intake horn. Most overlooked and easily repaired (with replacement gasket)

While you're in Telluride, there is a great little restaurant called Wildflower at the first floor of the Camel's Garden hotel next to the lift area. Food was really good and reasonable but they were only open for B'fast and lunch when I was there last August.

So don't get too worried, your problem does sound like a boost leak!

If you don't get it figured out and head back through Denver at all I have a garage and tools and could try to help. Although that would be quite a drive with not boost.

Hope you enjoy your trip... minus the truck problems that is.

Bad MAP sensor? That should set the Check Engine Light on the dash though. Just a thought. Probably a boost leak.

My MAP sensor went out at 104,000 miles and definitely no power when it goes out (ECM cut the fuel way down since it thought there was no boost).

I had my 2k dually do the same thing, the map boost sensor went out and showed no codes, the truck was a real slug with smoke, I replaced sensor that i got from dodge for $80 and it fixed it! good luck on finding the problem!
