Anyone know what these two studs were meant for ?

I think you are supposed to have sound deadening material there. The studs have a plastic nut to hold it on If not must be something from the inside..

I don't think so. If you look down you can see the black fibrous insulating panel that is held in place with black plastic washer-head like push-in pins. (I forget the actual name). There's was nothing there from the factory, just a hollow cavity covered up by the fibrous panel. They (dodge) must have had something in mind for that location. Maybe some electronics or ??

I see on yours it appears you have a hole in the insulator that lines up with a stud. Mine doesn't have that.

After looking at your pic a third time I realized Im at the wrong spot.

03-04.5 had the cruise control vacuum reservoir there. They still used vacuum for cruise.

Ah, had to go look at my truck and stare at the picrue a bit. Those are the mounting studs for the PCM, guess they just stayed as a part of the body until it changed later. Pretty sure the 03-05 trucks all shared a common body build.

PCM is on pass side firewall. What the studs are for is the cruise control resovoir as seen in my pic. 04.5 and up the cruise control is controlled by the ECM

Not a CC servo for sure, the servo is at the end of the CC cable if there is one. Reservoir it is, thought it was closer to the pump. CC on many 03-04 trucks is controlled in the ECU so it is not always there. MY05 was the first build that the speed control was exclusively in the ECU.
