defroster/heater problem

Only One thing, The Rear License plate drivers side light bulb housing burned up, Due to a shorted Bulb.

The part was $7. 45+tax.
70k miles.

Seriously, I guess you are contrasting your experience with that of the member whose 97 has broken a number of things. My 97 is in between the two, but has never left me at the side of the road and has had very little go out on it.
 
Joe, I am Just stating that There are Owners of these Vehicle's that have had Good service with them.

I know for a Fact, That 99% of the First Problems I had with my 1998. 5 in the Begining were from the So Called "Five Star Dealer".
This Truck along with the Mrs 1997 4x4 1/2 ton gasser Ram have been the Most Reliable Vehicles I have owned, Next to the Old 89 Cherokee That is. #ad
