Took the truck to Speedway dodge yesterday for the ABS lights. Evidently my brake light fuse was blown , they replaced a light and fuse , and so far everything seems to be ok. Can't believe I was riding aroung without brake lights for a month,

oh well . I had to pick it up from them to haul stuff last nite, they wanted to keep it because something wasnt reading right but thought it was probaly fixed. The abs lights go on then stay off and the thing pulsates during quick stops on dirt road. Service

department t was great said they are trying to turn around bad rep they have had in the past years.

My truck did the same thing when I washed it underneath. Ithought I ruined the ABS sensor in the rear but months later I realized it was just a fuse after I was told my brake lights were not working. Try that.

Thats funny you should mention that, I degreased and wash underneath the day before I noticed the ABS lights were on.

I wonder what part would be real susceptable to shorting out when it gets wet. Usually I spray the rear axle , transmission and

blowby area. Thanks RJ

what code # did you have?

Depending on what dtc was in the ABS module will determine what circuit was affected and what the repair will be. . Installing a rear wheel sensor just cause others have had the problem doesn`t make much sense to me!! I`ve come across vehicles that have just spun their wheels too much and set a code 9. . Just my 2 cents. Garth. .

I know of a few 4-wheel ABS trucks (all non-DC products) that came in to the shop for ABS lights on.

The fix was to clear the codes and tell the drivers to use 4-wheel drive instead of seeing 85mph on the speedo when actual vehicle speed is less than 5mph... .

Matt

85 on the speedo. holy cow. I run under the theory that if you spin em its already over. 5 miles over is no good but 80 mph over is just plain rediculous. Ive driven Icy roads quite a bit and that is retarded. If someone needs to tell them not to spin that fast something is desperately wrong. spinning makes more ice not more momentum unless your in mud.

These were younger drivers in vehicles that their parents had basically given to them. I think we all tested the mechanical limits of the first cars/trucks we ever drove..... some of us still do!

Matt

Todd will grounding the #13 pin black wire you mentioned to test the RWALS work on the 99, 24 Valve as well. I borrowed a drb II scaner and it says circut failure code # 35, what does that mean. I also reset the codes many times but the BRAKE & ABS lights are still on.

Thanks TJ

Still cant reset codes so Iam going to have DC order a sensor. Does any one know what a circut fault Code # 35 is.

Thanks, TJ

Check your ABS Fuse!!!

My ABS light came on after hooking up to my trailer. I ended up haveing a loose connector on my trailer. Dodge charged me $100 to put a new fuse in it.

CHECK THE ABS FUSE BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE!

Sincerely,

Tim

I checked my abs fuse but did not check the brake light fuse. Dodge found a bad Brake lite fuse and a burned out brake lite. the abs lights reset. The same trailer took out another truck at work by blowing out the brake light pedal switch.
