What a great engineering feat.... Capless fuel filler. Are they idiots at FCA?? So last night was the first time I've filled tank since I got the truck last Tuesday. I stop at Chevron and put the nozzle in, pull the lever and whoosh.... Diesel everywhere! Did it twice until I figured out you have to stuff the nozzle completely into the filler neck. About a 1/4 gallon of fuel everywhere. Then as standing there I notice that the weight of the filler and hose hanging off the green plastic neck is bending the green plastic into an oval shape. So I guess I need to hold the filler the entire fill-up to prevent trashing the green plastic fuel "hole"??? I also noticed that the spring like thing thats wrapped around the filler neck over time will just eat up the green plastic thing. What F'n BS idea is this?? Did they redesign the whole thing just to make space for the DEF filler?? F'n idiots man! The DEF fluid lasts a long time, It's not needed to have it so accessible like your adding DEF every other fill-up. The DEF filler should be under the hood, Not tucked up off the side. I already have the aluminum fuel cap but still man.... what a BS idea. I'd love to hear FCA's reason for the re-design. Hopefully some aftermarket company will offer a better solution than the simple caps that are out there. When I went to my truck this morning there was a big spot of fuel right under the fuel filler on the ground.. Then when I pulled up to my shop a couple of drops of fuel already dripped on the ground, I looked underneath and the entire fuel filler hose is wet and dripping and there is fuel spread down the frame rail. WTF us this??? 1 week old truck with 478 miles on it ******* fuel?? Going to the dealer today to see WTF is up.
