Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Stupid Diesel Question or not

This might be the silliest question ever asked but what do the letters ETC and ETH stand for? all I know is that I have a 24 valve diesel that I love to death but I don't understand the abbreviations. Please set me straight.

ETH= dealer abbreviation for 24 valve HIGH OUTPUT diesel
