Stupid Exhaust

Why the hell is there a CAT on the 600? Idiotic, my 02 was a resonator and a muffler, and they fell off...



Well the muffler on the 600 fell off today but the CAT stayed, exhaust shop wanted nothin to do w/ removing it, so I am gonna do it myself because I need the full straight exhaust tone back.



Thought I would vent the lamness of this!!!!

That's how they got it to pass new EPA standards while still upping the horsepower and torque numbers.

Believe me, you'd be crying a lot worse if you had an EGR system, that CAT was the alternative...

I agree. With all the talk about EGR in the summer of 03, I jumped the gun and ordered an 04 before I really needed it and before it was too late. Turns out the 04. 5 didn't get the EGR, but I still glad I got the 305/555.



Logan, be aware that the 04. 5 will not sound the ame with a straight pipe as your 02.

thinking about removing the muff how loud is the six hundred with out it

That's subjective. I don't think it's a good sound, but I'm used to a 95 and a 98 that were straight piped and the 03 and up don't sound the same. If you are not used to the sound of the older trucks, you may think the new ones sound just fine without the muffler.
