Forgive my ignorance and my laziness, but what deals (if any) are DC (Chrysler Corp now?) offering on new Ram Cummins? The '04. 5 is nearly at 100k which means the (extended) warrantee is gone. I'd like a new one... this one hasn't been too unreliable (front wheel bearings and front/rear joints not withstanding). I got the 0% 48mo. finance AND $2500 cash rebate on this pup (and invoice pricing). Anything like that being offered now? Diesel was $1. 40/gal then and now it's more than double. Are they dealing?

I'd put more faith in an 04. 5 with 100k on it than a brand new 6. 7... granted, you've got a warranty on a new truck, but that doesn't mean much when you're stuck on the side of the road w/ a clogged DPF. I'd give them some more time to sort out the new trucks!

I second that opinion.

If you want a new truck, get an '07 5. 9. But you better hurry!

I bought mine in August and I just went with a friend of mine last Sunday to buy his 5. 9 Laramie.

Go to Dodge.com and you can search dealer inventories.

I agree with the previous posts. It would be cheaper to keep what you have (a known quantity) that get a new truck. Although I have more goodies (4x4) on this truck, I miss my '99...

Well, truth be told, I really don't wanna be without a warranty nor do I wanna do the maintenance on the thing. It's disheartening to hear how crappy the new 6. 7L truck is, especially with the cost of a new loaded Laramie 4X4 QC LWB over $50-$53k. This is my daily driver, and I put around 30-35kmi a year. I know, not exactly an economical commuter, but I enjoy the truck and am comfortable driving it (more than I can say for any car I've ever owned). Unfortunately, no new car really floats my boat like a CTD-equipped truck, so switching to a "commuter" car is not something I relish. Supporting two vehicles (not including my two bikes) is not something I'm into either. Been there, done that... tired of the insurance, reg, maintenance (etc) bills for two vehicles.
