Just kicked up the timing in the '93, seems to sound a lot better then it did. Cut down on the haze of smoke too, now I can turn the "smoke" screw out ( or is it in?) to get some additional power out of it, correct?

You'd be better turning the fuel screw in. In my experience, yuo can turn that "smoke screw" all you want and it has little to no effect. You can also loosen the AFC starwheel and put the tapered pin to the rich setting.

Fuel screw being the one that faces back toward the firewall, correct? "Smoke" screw being the one under the metal cap facing upward?

Fuel screw on the aft side of the pump, almost to the block. 13mm lock nut and 6mm to adjust. If you have power on while adjusting, you can get a little spark off the shut off solenoid, if you hit it with the wrench. (of course, no one would be stupid enough to do that... . ;) )
