Any of you fellows that ride them dare motorsickles goin to the big rally in Sturgis SD coming up the Aug 8-14? It is 1 month 5 days 17 hrs 41 minutes 51 seconds away :D Me my son and a freind of his should be up there on the 6th we are staying at a camp ground out of Lead. Theres about 5-6 bikes leaving a few days ahead of us but they are going to spend a few days in Colorado we were going to ride with them but my son can not get off of work that long. This is the time of year they do most of there work building new tramission lines and pulling lines. He's one of them linemen. I was up there in 87 and I think 89 beautiful country up there. The way we are going its probably 1500-1800 miles. Anyway we will be there.

Been there done that. I went with my best bud who was wounded in nam, but he never let that slow him down. He rode a trike. Glad we had that trip together four years later he left us for new roads to ride with the big guy.

Went one year with the wife & three other couples, almost as much fun. If you haven't been there since 87 your in for a shock as to how big it's gotten. Last time I was there was 98 & it was like sitting in bumper to bumper traffic in L. A. to get anywhere. We stayed at Glencoe, but my favorite place to stay was Uncle Don's in Piedmont 10 miles south of Sturgis. He's got a ranch up on a mountain over looking the valley with green grass lots of trees for shade, good showers, great camping the only drawback is a mile of gravel rode up the mountain.

Have a great trip & ride safe

Larry, we live 1/4 mile off hwy 85 just north of Cheyenne. If you're passing through, your welcome to camp out a night or stop by for a lemonade. That's unless your headed up Kevin's way instead. :p Either way, be careful up there. There's plenty of dudes that rent a bike to go to Sturgis and have never ridden a day in their life.

I would like to make it out there some day. Guy I used to work with goes out there every year. He tells good stories of torential rains and hail on the way out there. Not to mention the 40 mph winds blowing accross I 90.

You can tell when its Sturgis. Bikes pass through here in large packs going west.
