2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Subwoofer box materials??

I have some 3/4 ash cabinet plywood scraps. Would it really be make much difference over using Particle board?

Yes, you want to use MDF. It's sonically "dead".

In sound quality it does make a noticable difference, 5/8" - 3/4" MDF works the best, also use wood glue, silicone, and lots of screws not nails. I even put some insulation lining my boxes to help bafle the box for best sound perforance.
