All of a sudden, my EGT's have increased about 150-200 degrees across the board. They aren't getting real high, but I don't like to see them creaping up on 1100 deg. empty. I haven't changed anything is the last couple of months, so I'm puzzled. I thought maybe my K&N needed cleaning (was a little dirty) so I went ahead and did it but didn't change anything. Any ideas what could cause this? They were running real high last week when I was in central OR, but I attributed that to the heat (90-95 deg) and the elevation. Now I am back at the coast, but they are still higher than they've ever been.

Thanks

Check all the hoses and clamps on the turbo - intercooler- intake horn path. They loosen up with time and cause small leaks and a raise in EGT.

:( Just a W. A. G. here, but what about a crack in the exhaust manifold:confused: You would be bleeding exhaust before the turbo causing a slight slow down of it's speed and less air. Just a thought if you don't find any loose clamps. Good luck. :(

If your pyro is the problem it will most likely be reading high even after idleing. Has your shutdown temp changed? Bug clogged coolers don't help either.

So far I haven't found anything...

I've checked the hoses, and all the connections on the pyro and lead wires are OK. I still see normal shutdown temps, so I don't think my pyro is lying to me. I wouldn't think just the summer weather (day time highs in the high 70's) would make that much of a difference would they? I'll be on the road all week in the central WA heat so I guess we'll see what happens.

I did a wide open test last night to make sure I hadn't lost any boost, and I'm still seeing the normal 25-26 lbs I always have. However, even in the cool night air I could reach 1100 degress which I never have been close to before even when towing. Maybe I'll un-plug the EZ and see if that changes anything.
