All the Laramie trucks at my local dealerships are the full $4000+ package, and I noticed they have a nice suede insert in the leather seats. Does anyone know if the lesser $2200 Laramie package that omits the dual zone A/C includes the same leather seats, or is it just regular leather without the suede?

I believe the SLT option version does not have the suede inserts. At least thats what I've been told.

Right, but does the lower Laramie package have suede, or just the top-end Laramie package? Some people aren't aware there's 2 different Laramie packages...

The "H"package is the $4000 Laramie package and the "J" package is the $2200 Laramie package which includes the suede inserts. Recommend you get a RAM brochure which explains all this package and accessory stuff in detail.

Ordered: 04. 5 Cummins 2500,QC,LB, 4X4,"J"Package Laramie

The brochure is pretty worthless. Unless there's a new brochure I haven't seen, it doesn't say with certainty if the 'lesser' Laramie package includes the suede. The website is even worse, not even close to trustable as far as specs go. I am hoping that the couple of responses that say the suede comes with the cheaper Laramie package are correct.

My RAM brochure is apparently more explanatory than THEJEEPDUDE's brochure. The "lesser" Laramie package (J- Package) includes "Leather trimmed 40/20/40 front split bench seat with Preferred Suede Trim". Since I have the J-package on order with my new RAM I will be a disappointed dude if it is not suede.

GREAT! I guess the brochure I got a couple weeks ago was from their old stack or something, but I'm glad to hear it's documented somewhere! I didn't want to have to pay for dual A/C just to get the suede seats. Now if I could only decide on a color...

Don't let them fool ya those rear seats ARE NOT LEATHER. the suede insert is but the center front seat and the entire rear seat except the suede back is Vinyl. The window sticker will show "leather 40-20-40 front seats" and then the back will just show"60-40" rear seats. The window sticker on my truck conveniently lists the front seats directly above the rear to give the false impression that they were all leather. You cannot wipe an oil or tar stain off the suede also. My 02 was the cheaper Laramie without the heated seats or woodgrain simulated stuff and the entire front and rear seats were leather. I wasn't very ahppy when I was treating my seats on my 04 and the rear seats didn't soak up the treatment, I use Lexol.

Wow, two Laramie packages now? I thought Dodge liked to keep things relatively simple in ordering so they could keep manufacturing costs down. Now they've got multiple Laramie packages for no really good reason. Meantime, my 'old' 3gen Laramie seats have been wonderful.

Interestingly, dodge.com doesn't menttion the J package, but does show a $100 increase on the 600 to $5460. KBB has the J package but shows the $5360 engine price. Edmunds shows both the J package and the $5460 price.

That is why I was tempted to just get cloth and upgrade to leather myself via www.leatherseats.com. I got leather for my '99 there and it's got a lot more leather in it than the factory 'leather' which is mostly vinyl. The problem is, to get the nice leather (vinyl) door trim with silver inlay I have to get Laramie anyway, so I'll probably get the cheaper Laramie and just wait until the seats are worn out and then get them redone in 100% leather when the time comes.
