Suggestion for new forum

I don’t know if there is much demand for it or not but I would like to suggest a call in a favor forum. Recently I was interested in possibly purchasing a truck out of state from me. I posted in general diesel topics about trying to find a member in El Paso to look at a truck for me before I bought it. General diesel did not seem like the right place for it but it didn’t seem to fit anywhere else either.

This worked out great and saved me some money and allot of headaches, all because a TDR member took up the request and inspected the truck for me.

If he would not have inspected the truck, I was at the mercy of the Dealer that knows nothing of Cummins diesels but knows everything about what a great truck the one he has is. I thanked Kernel (Scott) for doing this for me but wish I could do something for him. Well there may never be anything in my area he needs but sooner or later there may be another member of TDR that needs something looked at or checked on in my area. So I feel I at least owe a favor to a TDR member. This seems similar to pay it forward except it’s a favor. Members should never feel pressured or put out by doing a favor, but I feel there are enough good natured members that would do these types of things for other members.

I have driven a CTD for 15 years now and feel I am qualified to judge the condition of a Dodge Diesel and would be willing to test any truck in Utah! Yes, I am retired with some time on my hands and love the CTD. I drove my 1990 until I bought my 03. What a change that was. Now all TDR has to to do is come up with a volunteer for all the other states!! Great Idea!
