I finally got all my guages installed--boost, fuel pressure, and DUAL EGT (pre and post-turbo). Everything seems within the normal ranges that have been posted time and time again here #ad

When getting on the interstate and pushing the go pedal through the firewall to see how high the EGT's would go, I got close to 1100 pre-turbo. This was empty, fourth gear, at max boost (~20psi).

I know most people don't like to see a pre-turbo EGT over 1250 (or even 1200 or 1150, depending on the individual).

I'm wanting to bomb now, and am thinking either an EZ or 275's. I'm also going to the amsoil air filter (fo mo flo, yo. )

My question: Which one first? If I put the 275's in without being able to run more boost, will my EGT's go too high?

Opinions welcome! Bombs away!

bed liner, silencer ring removed, ISSPRO 2-50# boost, Westach 0-30# fuel pressure (should have ordered the 0-15), Westach dual EGT.

Next up: 275's, PE-EZ, PE, or PE-Comp

Before you do any injectors or major mods, i would first do all you can to eliminate EGT problems. So, A Psychotty is an excellent idea, as is a 4" exhaust. The Psychotty alone will drop your EGT by almost 150 degrees, the exhaust will further drop it. Not to mention both of those items will give you a big increase in acceleration and power. Not to mention they sound great.

You can run the 275's AND the EZ with a 3" straight pipe and a factory air filter just fine. EGT's should not be a problem until you get past DD1's for sure. In really hot weather you might see 1250 if you are really hammering it. My vote is for a box first, then some DD 1 or 2's. I would not spend the money fighting EGT problems that you don't have.

Howard is correct.

The 3" exhaust in most cases is good up to 300+ HP

Alot of misinformation is be posted about the 3" system

-Mike R is still running his stock exhaust minus the muffler and he is + - 400 HP

correct me if Im wrong but its **** close.

EDIT and -Mike is running the Pyschotty

Thanks, guys.

I took a look at my stock air filter--pretty cruddy. Like I said, I'm going to the less-restrictive Amsoil filter. That should help it breathe better.

I think I'll go for the EZ (or COMP, maybe?? #ad
) first, and do the injectors after a while.
