Thought I’d summarize all the input from the dual antenna post. Please correct me if I’ve misstated or omitted anything:

1. A single antenna placed in the center of the roof is the overall best setup.
2. The roof is the best ground plane.
3. Placing a single antenna in the center of the roof gets the antenna up high and utilizes the roof as the ground plane.
4. In general, dual antennas on our trucks are not worth the extra expense and effort.
5. Dual antennas might be advantageous if you were towing a large 5th wheel often.
6. Dual antennas on our trucks do not significantly, if at all, increase the range of transmission/reception. One possible reason is that you cannot get the antennas far enough apart to work at peak performance.

Your summary is about as good as it gets.
Actually, in most situations, a single antenna will outperform duel antennas.

No different than thinking 100W divided among two light bulbs will outperform a single 100w bulb.

Hello from the FNG. In the past I've always run duals, 1 to the CB and 1 to the radio! Talk about recption! When we were in the Mts only those of us who did this could get clear reception. Good luck
