Helenville Truck/Tractor pulls

Hi everyone,

Cabin fever has hit and it's time to start thinking of getting together. I was looking at somewhere on the East side of the state. Maybe Appleton/Oshkosh? This might get some new faces to come, and it's been awhile since we smoked up that side of the state. Get some dates coming in. I'm looking at May/June.

Practice the Cheesehead handshake. Those that don't get it correct the first time, buys for the group.

Count me in. Let me know when and where. While I don't mind driving all the way to Madison or to Spicy's house for the bus races, someplace close would be nice.

Depending on which weekend, count me in. I would tow the 5er over there. Maybe the freaks will come out for this event... . (Fireman Dave):-laf :-laf :-laf

Practice the Cheesehead handshake.

I'll be sure to bring some biohazard gloves for the handshake - I remember how that was the last time. ;)

Good idea for a location, Paul. I think there are some more northern guys who'd make it to something in that area. I'll try to make it, but I work a lot of weekends - so it'll depend on the date.

Paul (MN Cummins LVR) gave me another idea too - I wonder if anyone would be interested in a camping get together?

Dave, good to see you're still around.

How about June 16-17 as a start date? I realize that's a long time from now, but it should give everyone a chance to make plans. I know we could try for an earlier date, but when I talked with Matt, we decided that it should be warmer outside so nobody gets frostbite when we gather ouside before and after eating. Not saying there's a problem talking trucks when it's in the 40's, but we just have to change that tradition to warmer weather.

Don't forget that wives, kids, and girlfriends are invited. Just remind them it'll be a long day.

I'll check the vaca calendar at work to see if I can get Fri 6/15 off. I think a camping/RV get together would be a blast! We need to hear more DC stories from John RV4:-laf :-laf :-laf

Anybody else interested in camping and a good campground to go to?

Thx,

Paul K.

I agree, Paul. We had some great times around the campfire down at Goerend's. I'm not sure if the 15th works for me, but I'll check. Maybe we can pick an alternate date for the camping if that one is a problem for the ones interested in that activity. It could even be a separate event from the lunch meeting on the 15th.

I would definitely enjoy a get together this spring or summer. I'm pretty much open for any time.

My only hard dates so far are mid June, ( 4 days) and July 23rd thru 29th I will be camping at the Oshkosh Flyin airport.

Anybody like airplanes? Last year they had a couple of small single engine diesel powered aircraft there. Meet me there.

I'll be watching

posts for get togethers.

Right now the weekend of the 15th looks pretty good for me - I'll check with my women.

RH: JohnRV4 has a couple of planes and often goes to Oshkosh. I'm sure you two would have a lot to talk about.

I'm in

Sounds good to me. I've been working on the motorhome most of the winter, so it should be ready for lots of trips this year. I've been camping at Oshkosh every year since 1985. I am starting to burn-out on it though. I only spent a couple of days up there this year. Also, I haven't been flying as much either. I guess I have too many hobbies and not enough time. :p

Can anyone recommend a good campground to stay at? Hope I didn't hijack this thread... we're still meeting for lunch? I am recommending to Jenny that I'll take the 05 pulling the Tit(anium) and she can drive the 92:-laf :-laf :-laf

Basemant Saver! John! How ya doing? I might get to this one, heck I might even have the truck back together! If not I can bring the oil burning Jetta.

Practice the Cheesehead handshake.

Paul

That doesn't involve a thumb and a large breed of dog, does it? :-laf

I'll pass on the handshake, but if I can swing it, I'll be there. Who knows, I could win the Lotto and have a large turbine-powered offshore raceboat by then. Then it might be only an hour-long trip. Oo.

I guess I have too many hobbies and not enough time. :p

Cant Wendy pick up another job John? That would allow you to quit yours and give you more time to really focus on the important stuff. I had suggested this to my wife some time ago, but she told me to F-O! But, maybe you might have better luck.

I might be able to make one of the next meets. We'll see.

What a good idea, Wendy seems very nice. I think John is just the guy to pull this off and pave the way for the rest of us... . :-laf
