I noticed their web site shows that it is in stock now. I thought it was supposed to be back ordered till like February? Has anyone else heard or received theirs?

I just finished getting mine on this weekend, My wife had ordered it in Nov for an X-mas present for me. After reading exhaust threads for over a year I decided to try The Summit system.

I painted all the parts with 1200deg silver because they appeared to be bare metal. All in all the system went on the truck great. The hanger supplied are duplicates of the originals and fit very nicely. I especially like the fact that the tailpipe has welded rods exactly like the factory tailpipe and doesnt require a mufflerclamp with a hanger welded on that would show from behind. I bought one of summits 5" stainless tips to finish it off and I'm very happy with the outcome. My only concern is that the downpipe is about one eighth of an inch from the frame which i'm afraid will cause a rattle. I'm going to try to fix that this weekend.

The sound of the system is very nice. Slightly louder at idle, throaty under acceleration and no drone at all at least up to 80mph.

What I didnt expect was the performance gain I got from the system. I was hoping not to lose low end power from what I've read. Far from that the truck picked up noticable torque especially on the low end. All in all I would recommend this system to anyone and wouldnt hesitate to pay much more than the asking price that summit has. Hope this helps

Cat- Back or full system

Now the website shows it as a cat-back system. I thought it was a full 4" system??? Anybody know for sure?

thanks,

simon

They have both...

This is a turbo back system, p/n SUM-680001. I ordered mine in mid december and just installed it on the truck. I'm very pleased with the system and performance for the price. I am going to add the Donaldson muffler to see if that reduces some of the drone at about 1950 rpm (it is minimal, but I'm a perfectionist), but otherwise it was a good system for the money. I had the same limited downpipe clearance as LJolley, but I plan on tweaking the hangers a bit to force the downpipe further away from the frame.

It is aluminized. I'm not sure on the muffler. There were no identifying marks that I could make out on it. It is about 18" long, 5" diameter, straight thru design with "cheese grater style" internals. I just picked up my Donaldson yesterday to install in tandem with the provided muffler. I hope it makes it a touch quieter.

The kit comes with the guillotine clamps that do crush the pipe. I picked up 3 stainless band clamps from NAPA (about $6 ea. ) and used them instead. There are two hanger/clamps that you have to use because of the incorporated hangers, but I didn't clamp them down too hard. I also painted the bells of each pipe with a bit of anti-seize (right or wrong) to aid in disassembly (and assembly) if I have to go back in at any joint.
