Hi all, some months ago I purchased the Summit wiring harness. Installed the harness and immediately found that my high beam blue dash indicator was wired so that when the lights were on high beam that the indicator was off, and when the lights were on low beam that the blue dash indicator was on! I rechecked my work and looked fine, e-mailed Summit and dead silence! No response even yet! Have any of you had the same problem?

When you install one of those harnesses, you have to disconnect the usual connector for the right headlight. Make sure that you tape it up so that none of the pins on that connector touch anything. Funky results will occur. Not sure if that's the problem in your case or not, but I've seen it cause some strange stuff.

I almost forgot: Do you have the factory fog lights? You may have to jumper them out so that they are no longer tied in to the low beams only. I forget the details on why it happens, but it has something to do with the relays drawing a very low current.

I have the Summit Kit on my 2002. Its works fine with my truck and the high beam indicator does work correctly .

You will have to bypass the factory fog light relay in the PDC. All that relay does is prevents the fog lites from being on with the high beams. The relay ground circuit is thru the high beam filament. The Summit relay kit takes the bulb filaments out of the circuit. The relay takes very little current to operate so what happens is that the fog lites put on the high beams.
The bypass trick should be in the archives someplace.
How do I know this? BTDT!

Read this thread completely: https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?t=145959

Ok, I read the thread. First off, my rig does not have oem factory fog lights. However, under the hood, in the fuse box assy. on the drivers side fenderwell there are two sopckets labeled: fog lamp and fuel tank #1 and fog lamp and fuel tank#2. Both of these sockets are vacant. Perhaps a jumper wire in which one ? Also, above these two relay sockets is a 15 amp bayonet fuse labeled "fog lamp". Took this fuse out with no difference. Double checked my installation and all seems good!
