Has anyone installed a Pro Loc torque converter, and what is your opinion of its quality and function? Going to do the auto upgrades first, before I get B. O. M. B. ed! #ad

Buenos noches (or is it bony snatches?) Frijole ---there's been a couple of postings concerning the Sun Coast product... rummage thru the archives-- they look and the ad reads like good quality, but someone was concerned about the shaft bearings having to hold up under a TC that weighs over 2x as much as the stock one---If we could know that the bearings in question were x3-4 overbuilt (FAT CHANCE!!!) there'd be no worry at all, i bet---happy to see another slushbox getting prebombed--much easier to take advantage of the dashboard deli when you don't have to shift... rich
P. S. BD makes replacement TC's that probably weigh closer to "stock"

richm--Thanks for the heads up on the weight, I'll look up previous posts. I want this auto bulletproof before I start pouring the coals to it. I have absolutely no use for that 3rd pedal on the floor, not an aspiring trucker. (old age)----Where did you get the 5" slant cut tip from, and is it stainless? Thanks--Ron #ad

the whole exhaust consists of (a) a 4" downpipe from BD (b) a few feet of 4" aluminized steel (c) a mandrel-bent 45* elbow(d) some hangers and clamps (e) a 4"-5" reducer and finally (f) the 18"x5" outlet, which can be obtained at any truck stop-- Darryl gathered all this stuff together for me and the install took about 30-40 minutes (excluding the removal time for old stuff) the system is clamped only where the BD downtube meets the other tubing-- Darryl welded all the other goodies right under the truck, for a very nice, firm fit---YES,IT'S STAINLESS! #ad
I'm not sure where he ordered the tip from, but it was about $100 --whole system was abt $700, but looks and sounds real good, and helped the power and mpg a little, too. (also keeps my right-side blindspot clear on the freeway #ad
)

richm--Thanks for the sources. I guess I need to go hang out at the local truckstops and see what I've been missing. I don't get out much anymore since retiring-(wife keeps handing me "honeydew" lists! (hehe) She also handed me this truck, so life is good!!!

Wives can be "OK"--mine makes more $$ than I do, so, I also didn't have to do the "followed me home/can I keep it" routine. #ad
