Welcome

Welcome to TDR, mcandies. It is nice to see more bayou boys on the TDR.

Did you get a chance last year (November) to go to Gerhards DynoDays in New Orleans? The guys from SunCoast were running their trucks with the ProLoc Transmissions.

If you didnt make it last year, they plan on having another DynoDay next November. Hey FREE Dyno and FREE food. Can't beat that! :D

I installed my suncoast t/c v/b last knight iam very pleased with it the shifts are very crisp the t/c puts the power to the ground and i have not been able to slip the clutch. :D So far i have put on aprox. 50 miles ill let you know if any problems accur. so far i would deffinatly recomend suncoast .

LJ,

If you're up in Maine... you might want to come on down to Massdiesel's place on the 16th of March..... it's going to be a wrench day and a general BS session to get the 'local chapter' going.....

It would be sweet if you could make it, but if not that's cool too.

Matt

thank you for the invite but i have to work that weekend . I definetly want to get together sometime to bs and check out your rigs. I like your sig. runs like a recently violated primate you bust me up:-laf

You better go see Bill Kondolay at Diesel Transmission Technology,

http://www.dieseltrans.com/DTTech/index.sht

if you want the very best. Do a search and you will see that his set-up is superior to anything else out there, additionally ask other TDR members who have DTT tc & vb's installed..... we can't say enough great things about Bill & crew and their awesome products.

That is a HUGE understatement!

Sorry, I can't tell you anything about Suncoast's inferior products! J/K! It would be a shame to not get DTT though. Bill knows our trannies better than anyone, period.

Don't worry. I had my transmission guy call Bill to get info about installing his stuff. Keith called me today and said that he will do the DTT install. Woo Hoo!! He will be doing the conversion for me after he gets back from his vacation the second week of March. Looks like we may have a DTT installer in the south Louisiana area. By the way, the name of the shop is "Powertrain Specialist" located in Prarieville, LA, owner Keith Hunter. I will let everyone know the results after the work is complete.

Oh you're just going to hate it! I mean, you will actually get power to the ground instead of just making noise. You're going to have to put up with not having to tinker with the transmission for a long time. I hope you are ok with just driving it, and not working on it all the time. And if you like sitting on the side of the road, well, you will just have to pull over and put it in park. When the highway patrol asks you what is wrong, you will have to say "ummmmm,... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... . nothing", and look stupid. YOU ARE SOL, NO MORE FUN IN SIGHT!! :( ;) :D :D :D Oo.

Well, this did start out as a thread about SunCoast Convertors... . but it didn't end that way.

Irregardless of who makes the best stuff and how many people love their stuff, I'm going to go with what I feel is the 'best' or what is the best bang for the buck. It's all a matter of who I'm sending my $3500 to..... Bill K. 's stuff is #1 on my list of transmission vendors, but as always... ... there are options.

Just like how everyone loves DOR bumpers... . I have found an option that I like better and is more reasonably priced.

I'm not slamming anyone or suggesting that I don't like anyone or their products, but I am going to do research before I spend my hard earned cake.

Matt

Well so far I have put about 300 smiles :D on this suncoast t/c v/band i dont see anything inferior about it . I have driven a couple of different companys setups and i like this one this the best.

A good friend of mine has a 97 auto that the transmission was rebuilt about two and half years ago right before he bought the truck and he just had a suncoast converter and transgo diesel kit installed about 1000 miles ago and he has been very satified with it. He uses his truck mainly for pulling construction equipment and for hauling his race car and he says the transmission now performs like it should. I already have the transgo kit in my truck and I will be getting the converter as soon as I have the pesos. He is very pleased with suncoast products.
