Anybody else ever go for a nice Sunday drive?

I guess it's something my dad started with me, every Sunday we would both jump in the car after church and head out for a day of driving. :) He usually told mom we would be back by supper time. Usually we weren't. ;)

Were did we go you ask?

No were. That was the best part of the hole thing. We would start off in a direction and just drive. When we came to an intersection we would flip a coin and and that's how we dicided were to go. I recently started doing this myself and it really brings back fond memories of my dad, and it really relaxes me to. I just try and get lost and then use my compass to get back. I've seen some real interresting places doing this and lots of them remind me of when my dad and I used to go for our Sunday drives. :p I've even wound up in a few places were I thought I might not get out of. (good thing I bought I 4x4)

So next Sunday instead of sitting at home whatching TV take your son and go for a drive. I'm glad my dad did this for me and wish he was still here for me to take him for a "Sunday Drive. :(

Still thinking of ya dad :p

I do the same thing. I start out when I feel like it and return the same - when I feel like it. I usually drive 200 to 300 miles on any given Sunday. I enjoy the sights around the NW and driving my truck. :)

Happy trails

Crop tour.......

... . that's what we call them in these parts. Doesn't necessarily have to be on a Sunday-could be after supper on a weeknight if you have nothing better to do. Pretty relaxing to aimlessly drive around the country looking at crops, enjoying the scenery and travelling a few Alberta backroads you have never been down-or haven't travelled for a long long while...

My girlfriends parents do that during the summer months. Her dad has an 88 Wrangler, and as soon as it warms up her mom is begging for the top to come off. :-laf

They stay gone for hours on end, but are usually back before sunset.

My girlfriend and I have taken the jeep before when her dad was out of town, but we didn't stay out very long at all.
