The Sunglass Storage Bin latching plastic tab is broken, and it hangs down all the time. So I obtained a new Bin.

The Manual says to first completely remove the Overhead Console.

Question: Is it possible to replace the Sunglass Bin without removing the whole Console? Can you lift the pivot latches from the outside without breaking them?

I just popped out the old and in with the new - using care. Every thing done in place. Don't remenber if a small screwdriver was used as a pry helper?

With a better flashlight and a pair of needle nose to lift the spring latch I was able to get it installed without breaking it. Now we'll see how long this one lasts, but at $32 a clip, the next repair will be with velcro!

Thanks, guys, for the advice!

I bought mine online. paid $23? & was shipped with other stuff. I had a friend have his replaced and the dealer and they charged him $46 - wow. I didn't remember the screws, but I know it was only a 5 min fix without console removal.

Little off topic here, but does anyone know if the overhead console "types" are interchangeable in the 3rd gen trucks. I have a 2005 without the sunglass bin, only lights and evic readout. I would love to have a sunglass bin in the overhead.

Does anyone have a part# for the whole console with the sunglass bin??

TIA.
