Wow! you HAD a nice truck! Glad you are alright. Can someone tell me what "Gap" insurance is? Now your fun starts! We pay insurance all our life and the time you need it they hassle you. I was talking with an old friend the other day and she said her homeowners was canceled for fileing 2 claims in 1 year. Never mind she has had the same insurance and never filed a cliam in the 20 years prior.

State farm "cancelled me after hitting to deer in a company vehicle! Once I got it straightened out I switched to Erie and never looked back. I think we can all thank the wonderful attorneys and their brian dead clients for all the insurance problems of today.

Gap insurance covers the difference in price between the vehicle payout if it's totaled and the amount you actually owe. When you owe more than the vehicle is worth that's commonly referred to as being "upside-down".

Progressive sucks big time, i know. Any low cost insurance company sucks. When I think of progessive, the word liberal comes to mind, we wont go there. Fight them on the aftermarket stuff. They should pay atleast 30% of the value of the extras. Since that is what normally used aftermarket items are valued at.



Sucks you are losing a great 03 truck now your stuck buying a used one or getting a new rats nest of an 05...



good luck keep us posted. Keep fighting, thats the only way you get anywhere with the insurance company!

I have gap insurance on my truck, wouldn't have it any other way. I owe around 32K, blue book is around 26-28K. I would hate to total it and have to make payments on 6k when I didn't have the truck anymore. That pays the 500 bucks or so I paid for the insurance. JMHO. John

I had (yes, had) Progressive insurance, for homeowners insurance. We got a golf ball to baseball sized hail storm. I got a estimate to replace my roof ($2,400). Well Progressive's adjuster came around and offered me $7 per shingle, and he found 10, being bad. He NEVER climbed on the roof. I told him if Progressive was that BROKE, he could keep his $70! We switched to Auto-Owners that same day... .
