Finally

trailer plans/components

Anyone ever had one, know anything about them, good bad or junk? I'm looking at a 29' 5ver bunkhouse with a livingroom slide-out. The camper looks really solid inside and out but thats just looking at it sitting on the dealer's lot. Haven't asked about price yet thought I'ld get you guys your opinion first. ;)

Thanks

Darrell

Don't know anything about Sunnybrook, but Keystone makes a Cougar around that length, with a triple bunkhouse and living room slide. Most 5'vers I've looked at don't have much storage space with access from the outside, these have a hugh pass thru with a laundry shut that drops from the bathroom down into it. Aluminum construction and built with weight distribution in mind, propane bottles split up with one on each side, things like that. Pin height looks higher than some of the other makes, don't think anyone with 4X4's would have any bed rail clearance problems. Just something for you to take a look at.

On the Sunnybrook

I think they are very good unit's. I had one for over four years and put about 25,000 miles on it. I traded it for a bigger one about a month ago. The only reason I did not get anther Sunnybrook, was I could not find the model I wanted on the dealer lot. I hate to buy something without putting my hands on it. I dont think you can go wrong with a Sunnybrook.

All the Sunnybrook owners I know personally are very happy with their rigs. I've been in a number of them, and they impress me as good value for the price.

Darrell,

I have a two year old Sunnybrook w/ about 15k miles and would'nt hesitate to purchase another! They can be pricey but come with many features as standard that are extras in others. Sunnybrook has also come out with a lower cost line but I have'nt heard anything about them. Take your time and shop, compare and whatever you get enjoy the heck out of it!

Sunnybrook

My best friend has a Sunnybrook 27' tag trailer and loves it. It has been excellent and trouble free. If the price is right, it would be a good unit.

Darrell- If you are talking about the Sunnybrook 2850SL (I'm sure you are) we ordered one that will be delivered in about three weeks. We had a very problematic Fleetwood product that was less than a year old that we got rid of, and REALLY wanted to make sure we did our homework on the next one. I spent nearly 3 months researching them, and reading and looking at reviews and reports. I also went out my way to find owners and talk to them. I apoke with the factory numerous times. Having done and said all that, those are the reasons why we chose the Sunnybrook. I have still yet to find an unhappy owner, unless you count a guy named Marty, who is trying to to hold them responsible for his not checking the lug nuts on the wheels. (thats another story though). For the money, you will not find a better built trailer. It has many features that are not found on trailers anywhere near its price. If you want to PM or Email me, I can talk to you futher and give you some pointers about getting a few options changed that they do not normally do.

Either way, I really doubt you could go wrong with a Sunnybrook. I traveled some 700 miles to look at one before ordering ours. The floor plan is a great setup.

Good luck,

Kev

Forgot- do a search on IRV2. ComIRV and you'll find a great deal of my research as well as others. ;)

Our new one arrived last week

I ordered a new 2706SL(Sunnybrook Lite) and picked it up last Thursday. I looked it over from front to back, and the only things that I don't like are the tires(Maxxis brand-made in China:( ) and the spare tire carrier looks like it could use a little beefing up. I opted for the fiberglass gel-coated sides, and the fit and finish of the trailer is great. Everything else looks great, and I think they are one of the better TT's out there for the money after looking at others over the past year.

Thanks loads

Thanks guys, I appritiate the good news. I really liked the trailer when I saw it at the dealer, last weekend. I'm going to try to go talk to them Saturday and find out about a price so I can start saving up to buy one. :)

Thanks again, you guys are great.

Darrell

Good luck on the trailer.

I also have a 28' double slide Sunnybrook, and we love it. Quality & operation is good.

Would certainly buy Sunnybrook again. Also, their reputation is a reason we looked at them.

Theres others that are good as well, but going w/ Sb, nash, alpenlite, and a few others, you basically almost cant go wrong, as long as you get a decent deal.

One thing to pay attention to is the drain pipes. You want them to be inside the insulated part of the rig, not exposed.

Also you want shocks & suspension, not rigid mounted axles.

Make sure you get 16" wheels.

Another tip is to make sure that the dealer gets the ride height & bed clearance right before you drive off the lot, and make them pay for raising the axles jake plates, or whatever. Dont let them charge you for it, thats a common little "extra fee" they like to spring on the customer. Most experienced buyers make sure all that is covered in the deal.

Out of 4 different brands, the SB is the only one that is staying as solid as the day I brought it home! They're built very well. Even their Lite series have the same construction. They're coming out with a higher grade series soon. The factory guy said it will have lots of nice goodies!

Just another happy SunnyBrook owner checking in! I was camping with 18 similar owners last weekend.

from a former Sunny Brook owner, go with it. The only reason I traded it in was I went with a Lance truck camper. Since I'm a single guy and it was too big for what I needed.

Great to know you are all happy with your SunnyBrooks, that really says a lot for the Company. :)

Thanks again for all your replies.
