This is my first post. Was wondering, recently installed the BD Super B turbo on my 98. 5 2500. They claimed lower egt's and faster spool up. Before driving down the interstate at 75 mph the egt's would be at 600 maybe 650. Now egt's range from 650 to 850 at 75 mph. Is this just the nature of the beast or do i have to adjust the waste gate. Any ideas, i would really like to tow our 4 place snowmobile into the rockey's but scared withthe wieght and altitude i would be heating up a little too much.

Fill out your sig and let us know what other supporting mods you have. On a stock truck I dont think the Super B would be an improvment.

You can turn in (shorten) the wastegate rod 2 turns, that will keep the gate closed about 4/5 psi longer. I do not believe that is the problem. Actually, 850f is not a problem.

The Super B is 57/65/14, not sure what your stocker was, Call BD.

I am pretty sure at cruising speeds your egt's may be higher, but the Super B will definitely out flow the stocker at higher fuel levels.

I have the Super B on my 97 and like the guys are saying. You will have higher EGT's putting around but when you put your foot in it or hit a hill with a load the temp's will stay in check. That's one thing I don't like about the Super B smoke and higher EGT's at low fuel load. But other then that it's a good Turbo.

Well I have jammer nozzles 100hp, fass ddrp, edge comp box, 4" downpipe to 5" exhaust, no muffler. Trans mods include Braning XXX torque converter, full hp trans rebuild and transgo TFOD-HD2 trans reprogramming kit.

I'm happy with mine. I corrected the low end smoke with afc adjustments. Now mind you, I can still make it smoke if I want.
I tow a heavy 5th wheel and it really is an improvement over the stock with my mods.

I am 5,280 ft, i have pessure tested my hole intke system it only leaks down about 2 psi in 20 sec. I have stock intake on it and was thinking that putting a cold air intake and a new intake man would help. What do you guys think. Is the 3 section bd exhaust manifold worth the 430. 00 dolars and will that help also.

Stock intake meaning stock filter and box? Or just the intake horn?

Replacing the stock filter and box could help quite a bit if you are still using that... If you are I'm surprised you aren't suckin the air filter down into the box...

what kind of boost are you seeing . I had a bd super b on my truck before when i ran it with the edge on 5x5 w stock injectors the highest i ever saw was 1100 and that was lugging in 6th . I would personally do the 3 piece manifold . the stock one has a tendency to crack. just my 2 cents. Oo.

The edge is on 5X5 I see 47 pounds at full throttle torque converter locked up. Are those new intake horns worth the money and will help also? Does the three peise manifold help with spool up?
