My buddy has a super b turbo on his 12 valve and the highest boost he can get is 33 psi. Is this turbo wastegated? How can you get more boost from this turbo? Thanks in advance.

What type of fuel plate does he have on it?

Look on the exhaust side of turbo if it as a wastegate you should be able to see the actuator and rod. (It will be below turbo. )

Back when I was running my super B I could see peak of 46psi, and it would then settle in at 44psi. Box stock turbo, I never messed with the rod.

He melted one of his pistons in the original 1997 engine which has the 215 pump of course. He replaced it with a 1994 engine and put the original 215 pump on but it gave out for an unknown reason. He now has the 160 pump installed that came with the 1994 engine and he put the 215 DVs into it. For some reason at 1,000 rpms it has a slight miss would anybody have any ideas why?

Could the slight miss at 1,000 rpms be a bad injector? The miss only started after he put the 160 pump on. He got the local diesel performance shop to check the delivery valves and they said they're ok.

It could be an injector, but I'd be inclined to think something inside the pump. I'm not up to speed on these newer inline pumps.

His topping out at 33psi boost could be fuel limited- he simply isnt flowing enough fuel to make any more boost.
