i ran across a guy today with a lifted gas 1ton the truck had control arms that stretched all the way to a custom braket behind the transfer case crossmemeber they were powder coated grey and were trick as hell but he bought the truck like that and had no idea where they came from any body have any ideas? i would love to find a set of em for sure! also the truck had a really trick steering box support that was waaay different than the windecker one it was tubular and had way more reinforcement for the steering box any ideas on that? i've been scouring the net all night and i con't find either of them and neither looked fabbed for the truck plus the guy said he knew the previous owner had bought the stuff off of the net any help would be appreciated!

Probably the DSS steering stabilizer.

On the long arms, its probably the DC long arm kit, which has been tough to get ahold of now. There is a guy in canada that now builds a long arm kit for our trucks, and its way better than the Dick Cepek that was very popular at one point. He goes buy "Rock Ready Guy" on most offroad sites. I will try and get his info and pass it on to ya later today.

thanks

thanks man i would appreciate any info on the guy making the arms i finally found the dc arm setup last night at like 2am and it was them that i saw and the only dss i could find was the one sold by piers and windecker and it was way different than that the crossmember that runs between the frame rails was tubular and the support it self was triangulated i wish i woulda had my camera on me the one time i don't have it and i need it ya know?

Dave, here is Matts email, -- email address removed --, give him a shout! He wont dissappoint you! His arms will put those Extremesuspension arms to shame (they are DC's arms just re-named since they bought out Dick Cepek) Trust me, I know a few guys that have wasted the DC arms on rocks and such, they are not very thick walled tubing.

I have had the Dich Cepek lift for over 3 years and have never had a problem. Unless your hardcore rock crawlin and plan on beating your truck I would use the Dick Cepek kit. It is a good kit, fits well and well made.

On my 99 reg cab long bed I designed air ride for it. The four front 4-link arms and 4 rear 4-link arms all met at two central brackets, each bolted just outside the frame. The pivots for the frame-side mounted arms were about 12" apart. This was 3/16 plate with Heim carriers bolted to the frame, under that was a 4" channel bracing the two frame sides.

There is a pic here - of the bracket (yes, that's Mack taking my truck out). That's as far as I got before I scrapped it. That would have been a 4" lift rear, 6" front. I sold the truck but am curious to how it would have worked out.

Yeah, I heard that the quality went down hill though after DC got bought out by Extreme. Could just be rumors, but thats just what I have heard.
