I been looking at the new 07 Cab Chassis and noticed there is a selection for super heavy springs and decide I would like to find a set of these for my 06 so I called my dealer and he looked up springs for the 07 and there are like 12 diffrent part numbers and they dont say what the diffrence is so does anyone know the part numbers for the super heavy duty springs for the front. Or does anyone have a 07 with these springs that can call thier dealer to get the part numbers used on their truck or let me have the VIN and i will look them up.

Sorry if this is some where else... but I couldnt find it...

I just changed the springs on my 07. My truck came with spring part numbers 986 and 987. Dodge makes a spring with part number 988 that they don`t offer on anything that i know of. You can order these from the parts counter at your dealer for 129. 00 each. These springs are the stiffest i`ve seen. They are great for snowplowing as well. You`ll also get just about an inch of lift with them too. The springs aren`t any longer just a thicker gauge coil so they don`t compress as much. These springs should come on all diesel trucks in my opinion. The ride is a little stiffer but i thought my thuck rode a little soft before anyway. Hope this helps.

Trebich,

I have a 06 mega cab and I too have a bit of a bottoming out issue, Would you recommend this? I thought about a big bumper for the front and the stock springs are not the best for the weight of the truck. Please advise on your thoughts. . Thank you!

Timbrens are a very good product and i`ve used them in the past. I`ve had snow plows on all of my trucks and have always used timbrens. With the 988`s you don`t need them even with a plow. On my last truck i also had the 988`s and with the plow on it only dropped about a half inch when you lifted the plow. So in my opinion these springs are the answer to any type of bottoming out issue or front end sag. I would recomend them. When you go to buy them just make sure to tell them the part number cuz even my dealer didn`t know what they were for. I took a chance and ordered them for my 03 after i got to see a print out of all the springs available assuming that the higher the number meant the heavier the spring and it turned out being right. Iwouldn`t have a truck without them especially with the added weight of our engines. Good luck and let me konow if i can be of more help. Ted

I assume that your truck originally had the 987 on the drivers side and the 986 on the passenger side? Did you replace both sides with the stiffer 988 or go with a 988/987 combo? Just wondering if it would be better to keep the staggered rates or make them both the same rate?

Yes my thruck did come with the springs staggered but i put the 988`s on both sides. They claim that the reason for the staggered springs is to compensate for the drivers weight. I don`t feel that should matter on a one ton truck so i oppted to make it as stiff as possible. Let me know how it works out. Ted

I called four dealers in the SoCal area today about these springs. Not one of them knew what I was talking about and none of them could find the spring part number.

From what I hear you get the 988s if you have the snow plow package (with the extra skid plate and frount tow hook delete). Will try to climb under my truck and see if I have the 988s since my CTD came with the snow plow package.

Wonder their thinking is when you have a passenger riding along. Must have a weight limit on the passenger

TRebich, I do believe they exist, but I'm having no luck. Does anybody have the rest of the numbers that go before 986 or 987? I asked the guys to add those numbers to 988 when they look them up. They all told me there is no part number for front springs that includes the numbers 988. I'm out of ideas.

I called my dealer and told them they re heaver springs and the part number was "988". man stated he saw them it would be a week to get at a cost of $129. 00 Try my dealer 215-855-9061, I talked to Ed. . He might be able to give you more information. Put you NOT getting MINE!!!!! :)

Hey TRAMPLINEMAN and for all that are wondering the entire part number for these springs are 5211-3988AA and the are $129 each. And if they still cant find them they have to look them up under the 2007 trucks or so says the parts guy

Ordered mine to day!

AND MY TRUCK CAME WITH 983 AND 984 NO WONDER THEY ARE BOTTOMING WITH A BUMPER AND WINCH
