I love to fly and was looking through some old sites I hadn't been to in a while and came across this. I would love to have one of these in a Velocity XL5:
For our honey moon me and the new bride saw Burt and his company, Scaled Composit's first try at space. What an amazing time! Just got the Discovery DVD about Space Ship One and didn't realize the risks they took. The velocity is a spin off of Burt Rutan's Eze.
Burt has some fantastic planes. Very inovative and they look AWESOME. I wish I was rich and some of his planes went into production, even in kit form. The EZ's are nice but small, I'd still take one :-laf
What is in the center of the cylinders with the cables attached to them. Almost looks like an ignitions system with coil packs on the other end of the cable. but its a diesel right? What the heck is that? That thing looks pretty cool, but 39 grand probably not too bad by airplane standards but ouch, hate to lunch one of those babies.
Oh DUH, I see now. When i first looked at it they looked like cables or spark plug wires, but if you stare at it you can see the fittings on the lines.
