sorry to keep bothering ya'll, but i heard something today i needed to ask about.

for those who followed my earlier thread about pepping up my dad's 99 3500, i had about decided to go with the EZ. however, today we were buying him a toolbox at a local truck accessories business and the owner mentioned that he had installed a superchip brand chip on a 24 valve cummins, and that the owner was extremely pleased with the results. according to him, the increases in hp/torque are very similar to the EZ or the TST, but the superchip is about $100 less. i knew superchip was big with pstrokes, but i didn't realize they made a chip for cummins.

anyone familiar with this chip?

thanks!

the only way to install a "Chip" in a dodge is to replace the whole ECM. same goes for the PCM there isnt a chip to replace or piggy back. sounds like he does'nt know what he is talking about and you should stay away from there.

I hate it when reps and dealers blow smoke so thick you cant see through it :D

This is the first I had heard of the Superchip for the CTD. . I looked on the Superchip's home page and found this:

"Superchips has purchased a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Turbo Diesel to use as a test vehicle for design work on a hand held programmer to increase performance. Using our in house dyno we will be able to use this vehicle to gain the most horsepower and torque possible. "

I do not kow how old this info is. . just passing it along. .

Yes, its true. A buddy of mine has one, the specs are the same as the EZ. Plus 65 hp and 185lbs of torque. Made by Super chips Inc. Plus in just like EZ box.

If I try it out I'll post the results.

Looks an awful lot like an Edge box, but with only a 30 day return policy. Power numbers look pretty familiar too.

I couldn't stand it - I bought it. The buddy 'o mine sells them! ;)

I didn't take time to put the elbo on the turbo. I can definately feel a difference!!!!

Tomarrow I'll be pulling the Landscape trailer loaded with onemower, around 600lbs of seed, fertilizer, and lime, and an aerator, so I'll se how it does then. :p
