 Hey your probably right Toolman, guess it is pretty silly to think that that kind of Horsepower gain wouldn't tax the transmission. Guess I wanted to believe I could do a BOMB without the proper transmission mods. Now I'm thinking I should return to stock and not run the Superchips BOMB till I can have ATS evaluate my transmission! And if I do the transmission upgrades I'd probably run the EZE or Bluechip box like I wanted to in the fist place. Guess I got to learn to be alittle more patient in the future. Thanks James

UPDATE

I had to send mine back, came up with a code. Vin# locked.

Called Superchips they said to sent it back, they would pay

S&H.

Also called person who sold it Ebay vendor "one performance".

I really hate bashing a dealer, but if I can save someone

here the pleasure of dealing with Mr J Crabb, I will.

Nothing bugs me more than a vendor acting as he is doing ME a favor. He is rude and arrogant.

As for the tuner, talked with the head honcho and should have a new version out Nov. More Power More Power Good.

I f anyone has any questions, please email me.

Thanks

Scott

I bought mine on ebay also, from "citymufflerandperformance". They were great to deal with and got it shipped out fast. It was also $100 less than I could buy it locally. Got it last week, hooked it up, and was able to program my truck. Got an error code the first time I tried it, followed the instructions in the manual that came with it to pull a couple of fuses to reset the computer, and then it worked just fine.

Haven't dyno'ed it yet, but I must admit that I don't think I'm getting 70hp/140ftlb torque on the top setting like they claim. It did make a noticable improvement though, enough that my truck feels closer to the way that it did when I had the stock tires on it instead of the 315's. The speedometer adjustment works great... seems to be accurate. Code scanner is a plus too. Haven't driven enough yet to calculate whether I gained any fuel economy.

If not for the speedo correction and the code scanning capability I would say that the power gain is questionable for the money. But all things considered, I think it was worth the under $300 that it cost me.

:( I too have not noticed great performance from the highest setting. I've got mine set on "Performance Tow" (The middle setting ) and seem to notice more low end to mid range difference, which is what I was looking for. I think I gonna go back tyo stock for awhile and see if I can really notice a dif. There is a 30 day return policy, I will have to see if it is worth keeping? James

Just for everyones information.

Seat of the pants Hp increases are very hard to feel with these big trucks, unless you add big Hp.

When I installed my stage 1 injectors I thought I got ripped off because I couldn't tell the difference between them and stock by seat of the pants feel. Luckily I had dynoed the truck stock and done 0-60 speed times before the install of the injectors. After dynoing again and doing 0-60 speed times with the injectors in place it showed a solid 60Hp increase, all of which I could not feel by seat of the pants and even pulling a load was not that much more significant, although I could tell there was more power when pulling a load.

There is probably more power there than you guys realize. The best advice would be to get on a dyno, and if you can not do that at least do the 0-60 speed times stock and then with the programmer.

DToy,

Do you have a web address or phone number where I can get in contact with city muffler and performance. I plan on buying one of the superchip programmers in the near future. I did a search on a search engine and came up with 11,199 hits, at my reading ability my truck will be retired in the back yard turning to rust before I find the right place. ;)

You'll want to contact Jon Hoppis-email address is:

Or you can search on ebay motors - that's where I ordered mine.

Well my seat of pants seems to work fine. Added the the EDGE EZ and felt significant difference. Drove it awhile this way both MT and loaded, added 80HP injectors now my seat of pants needs changin. And guages indicate big changes, like boost climbin faster an further and EGT's over 1,500*. Back to the drawin board, needs less restriction on the backside. I agree measurement and controlled information is, of course, the ideal situation.

Tow Safe,

I've had the SC Tuner for a while now and I can assure you that on the performance tow setting (which is the middle power level)

My seat of the pants says EZ.

I tried the Hi-Perf setting after running a few weeks on Perf-Tow and it felt like I had set it back to stock. It smoked alot and the boost was slower to rise while EGT's would soar.

FWIW,

Gave Up

Hey Jeff

Glad it works for you.

After the hassle I had with the dealer, then SuperChips,

I will not deal with them again.

To many companies out there that actually want your business.

Not make you feel like they are doing you a favor.

Good Luck.
