Transmission Idea

241DLD to 271 T-Case swap

I had a superchips programer on my truck , last friday i removed it and put the stock program back in, Tuesday i droped my Truck off at the Dodge Dealer for a Transfer pump replacment under waranty, and to have them service transmission, get the truck back today try to install superchips back onto my truck and get the message on the Programer NOT ORIGINAL PROGRAM CALL SUPERCHIPS, so i tried a few times, NO Dice try to call superchips they are closed for the evening, Any one know what happend and what i need to do to get my superchips working again?

Did the dodge dealer put in a newer program without telling me and cause this problem?

Dodge could of very well changed computer programs, you will probably just have to send it in and have it cleared out so that you can reprogram it back to your truck. I know someone else that had a similar problem, and they just had to send it back and get it cleared. Hope this helps. .

I guess you are talking about sending the superchips programer back, right

I also rember hearing about this happening before but i dont rember what had to be done to correct the problem,

thanks for the help

Superchip Programmer

This is my first ever post! FNG I guess :p I have a Superchips tuner and traded trucks and kept tuner. Sent it in to Superchips with a $12 check and original reciept and they sent it back 7 days later with a new box and packaging and I was golden! The 12 bucks was for them to ship it back.

had a simmilar thing hapen too. tuner said "tuner needs update, call superchips. " sent it with 12 bucks got it back and its acting weird now tons of smoke and performance is less. still yet to figure it out.

Install of what?? The programmer is just a programmer like the Smarty. Plugs in to the OBD II plug and programs. You unplug it after.

Speaking of Superchips, I need to call them. I mailed mine in on the 5th and I've yet to get it back.

So how do you shift between programs? Do you download a different program as you would a Power Commander on a motorcycle?

Not as convenient as turning a dial or hitting a button like some other tuners.

To tune you have to shut down and plug in. It needs you to cycle the key

on to off a few times. kinda hard to do that with the engine running.

as for time it takes to get the tuner back took me a month. called after a couple weeks and was told it is in line to be looked at still.

Yeah I called Superchips and it was shipped out via UPS on the 16th, and it supposed to get to me on the 26th. I was hoping to have it for this weekend since I'm towing the trailer. I guess I'll see what stock is like.

Going back to stock hasn't been too bad for daily driving though. I was hoping I'd get a mileage increase, but that's not the case. Still 16-17 mpg.

I think I'm going to sell it pretty soon and get the Smarty though. With the Superchip I think it's basically the stock programming up until 1200-1400 rpms or so, then it kicks in. I always thought it was the turbo building boost (I've never driven the truck without it being programmed!)
