Okay gang;
I'm looking for a new front bumper to protect the grill and hold a milemarker winch. My first stop was Prozap, but they want an arm and a leg. Then I ran across Supercraft front bumpers. They are cheaper (they use steel instead of aluminium) but they don't have any holes in the front of the bumper for turbo vents. Is this a problem? If they are necessary, could I just cut holes and have a bit of support welded on?
Thanks, Josiah
P. S. Supercraft doesn't have a web site that I could find, so here is where I was looking at them... www.truckfarm.com look under bumpers. Thanks

The turbo doesn't pull air from those vents anyway, so you should be able to do without them. I do not know the price of the Prozap bumper, but if you are interested, check out Ranch Hand bumpers. The run about 200-250 more that the one you are looking at. They are built froma single piece of 4" schedule 40 or two 3" pieces of schedule 40. They are well built and very solid. The only drawback is that they are very heavy, 400 lbs, and on a front end collision, the fame is more likely to bend than the bumper.

I'm running a RanchHand full replacement bumper with no cooling trouble. In the summer here it gets hot and the truck continues to run 190.

do the plastic inserts in the stcok bumber really do anything constructive or are they just pretty? I see numerous trucks that have them removed.
