Competition Suprised Eclipse

Hope this the right place for this, just to fun not to post.

I was on my way back from Canada and pulled into Ogden Utah well I was at light after 15 hours of driving and this rice burner started reving his motor and inching to line well light went green and I just eased off but heard his waste gate pop so I let him have it in second (let him know what a real turbo sounds like, especially straight piped pointed at his head) let her rip, I didn't think I had a chance but to my suprise I had him the whole time, until 90 when the cars in front started getting larger, and he had the advantage of braking, so I backed down. I new he was trying I heard is waste gate pop 3-4 times. His eclipse looked fast, but looks are decieving. My truck with a 3 inch lift and 285's covered in snow and dirt, his red hot eclipse with all the look goodies. He turned left after that.

I have a 96 with #11 all the way forward, 215's, straight pipe, guages, and 17 deg. of timing.



I do have one problem, my tires are wearing faster in the rear? Any thoughts?

Rotate your tires so they wear more evenly

There 285 75 R16 Bridgestone Duelers and I don't even have 5k on them, and I can see the difference, the fronts look brand new but the rear are missing some tread.



Oh well I think I will be taking advantage of the 50k mile warranty from Costco. Because its too fun to stop!!

Good work ,I beat 2 different AWD Talon's off the line,they were like ,after that,They couldnt believe 7000 lbs could lauch that hard. Btw I held them off the rest of the way,although one of them was gaining fast at the end of the 1/4 mi,as i was defueling with 4. 10's at 98 mph.

Be careful..... there are a couple of Eclipse/Talon/Laser (all the same #@$* car... ) running in the low 10's and at least one is in the mid 9's.....



Very BOMBable cars, with turbo... . then again, anything with a turbo is easily BOMBed.



It is fun beating guys that are all-show-no-go..... I've been an all-go-no-show kind of guy all my life... . (all 23 years of it)!!

Some one from the Ogden area? I am actually in Layton but work in Ogden, same difference.

Car was fire red with ground kit and wing, wheels. Looked pretty good but couldn't move, for his size. I was on 12th going east. With your mods you wouldn't have a problem. My trucks marron with silver around the bottom. My passenger rear wheel is always black, (stupid idea to drop exhaust out the side). Deciding on what I want to do next, after a South Bend.

Just did a new V6 Eclipse. :-laf It wasn't from a dead stop, but I was following on an on-ramp. Don't you just love the surprised look?

Shane, I live in Ogden, and work in Kaysville. My truck is a forrest green top and bottom with a driftwood(silvery gray) middle and a Driftwood shell.



How long you up here for?



We're going to have a Dyno days in May. No date as of yet. TDR member HebeRam is setting it up. Watch for a future post.
