Vw Tdi Bombs?

My uncle Ron has a new Dmax and borowed my little 16ft flatbed trailer yesturday and went on a 500mile trip to a big consignment auction to buy a seed seperator. He mad the trip last week to look at it, and with the truck unloaded he got about 22mpg and when he took my trailer up he got 15mpg and on the way back with the seperator(that doesn't even weigh 1000lbs) he got 12mpg. He said it was because the landscaping gate on the back of the trailer creates alot of drag. I told him that I get better milage pulling may camper and I know it has more drag than that flatbed trailer.

Once a happy Cheby man, he is now greatly disapointed in his Dmax. :(

I'd do the points and plugs first. Oh, it's the new one. They have electronic ignition. Just tell him to get some new plugs.
