 02 HO 6 spd; with cruise control on at 70mph, truck feels like somebody is tapping the brake. Fuel pressures, turbine temp, boost pressure, tach all are steady. Take cruise control off and maintain 70 mph and the problem goes away. Anybody experience this? If you have, what was the fix? Thanks to all who reply.

Not sure if you have electronic cruise or vacuum. Though 2001 had elec.

maybe just the auto trans.

If not you can try put a reducer tube in the vacuum line.

Servo should be under drivers side battery, follow vacuum line towards firewall disconnect at Tee fitting and put a 3-4 inch lenght of WD40 spray nozzle into vacuum line.

That should make it a little less sensitive.

Hope that works.

I forgot to mention that the truck has 75K miles on it, bone stock and has had no previous cruise control symptoms and no fault codes.

I'm not sure if yours is vacuum or electric, but my 1997 2500HD had a problem similar to what you describe. Turns out there was a TSB to add a vacuum canister to the existing vacuum system... . problem affected my defroster door too. I know that I had to redo my vacuum line to the cruise actuator twice, because the line sat under my battery and acid had leaked on it and ate through. Hope these suggestions help.

When I was still bone stock mine did this for a month before the Vp44 died. Also no codes the cruise surge was the only symptom then it did the dead pedal then vp44 under warranty.
