Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Surging problem

While driving at freeway speed (60-70) I start getting a surging in the truck when I accelerate from around those speeds. This is even more noticeable while climbing a grade (Load or no load). It feels like it's starving for fuel, fuel filter is changed often. Could this be an issue with the Edge EZ? I bought it used and I'm pretty sure this is just now starting to develop. I have about 5000 miles on the Edge EZ. Or could this be a fuel delivery issue? Does the truck throw codes if the lift pump is going south or do I have to hook it up and check? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check your lift pump first and make sure your pressure is ok and up to par and is steady at WOT

from what i have read the ez can really pull the fp down-you needa gauge-DEFINITE for bombs
