I am in the need for a new clutch for my 1st Gen as I start the rebuild of my transmission, and truck. When and if you get them let us know.

Get feeling better.

Why Not (Chris)

clutch conclusion

The clutch deal I am going to have to let go for now... I can not handle lifting them and everything else that comes with the deal due to my declining health. .

Last week I got some distressing news. . I was told by my doctors that I have cancer... It turns out that I have exactly the same kind that killed my dog last year... I will try to beat it with kemo... I will start kemo next week... I know what lyies ahead. . I have watched many of my friends go down this road in the past. .

I kind of feel like it is game over for me though. . It make me sad to think it will end like this. . If the kemo gets to rough for me to handle I will stop it... Then take that one last ride across the country in my favorite truck...

In the months to come I will be putting a lot of my stuff on the for sale section of the site. I have a 40 years worth of pack rating to get rid of. . I think the first thing to go will be my airstream travel trailer. . Watch the board for the list. .

If there is anything special anyone needs please ask.

There is a chance that I might beat this. But even if I do beat it this time it will be back. . Cancer never stays gone for long. And kemo takes quite a toll on a persons body. .

I hope that my posts have helped you guys the past few years. . I am glad that I could pass on some of what I knew...

I am sorry to have to post this. . It is in gods hands now. .

Thx for the time. . It has been fun. . Just keep those trucks rolling ... ///Terry

Terry, I'm very sorry to hear this. I've talked to you a couple times on the phone, and also read many of your posts, and have gained much insight and knowledge about these trucks from you. Many people beat cancer though, don't give up the fight! I wish I were local so I could lend a hand. Best of luck to recovery-Nick

No problem. Thank you for all your time for us wrenchers/truck owners that love these trucks. If you so decide to make a trip in your truck, swing out through SE Iowa. It would be a pleasure to meet you Terry. Don't give up on life though. That will be the worst first step for this part of your life. I have no idea how difficult it will be, the pain involved or anything of that, but don't give up.

Don't worry, no matter what, I'll do my part to keep these old trucks on the road.

Michael

Terry,

Sorry to hear the news. As said before me, dont give up! A friend of mine beat cancer and lived 15 years longer than the doctors gave him when they found it. He beat the cancer, retired from work and lived until he passed a few years ago peacefully in his sleep. Your post have been a great education for me. My Getrag will survive in large part because of you and others that belong to this community. Thank you for all your time you have given to this community.

Mark.

Terry, sorry to hear about your cancer. I have gained lots of useful knowledge form your posts and phone conversations. I would tell you to not give up, but that is your decision to make.

MysteryMan:

I have never met you but from what I have read of your posts in the past and the sentiments of others on this site, I thank you for sharing your knowledge of these great trucks. I am sure that everybody on here has learned something from you.

***All atheist please stop reading at this point. ***

Father we humbly come before you in Jesus name and ask that you be with our brother MysteryMan, please heal and strengthen his body, keep his mind sharp and his eyes bright. Grant to the Doctors wisdom beyond their means and guide their strategy of care for our brother. Lord we ask this all in the precious name of Jesus and give you all the praise, honor and glory for what you are already doing in MysteryMan's body. Amen

Terry,

Sorry to hear the news about your health. Although there is nothing I can really do on my end, there are always prayers for you.

I know that most any subject I have searched in the forums, looking for help, your name is always in there, lending a hand to those of us that are learning, or trying to learn. Thank You , Sir, for your time , effort and patience. You have helped many of us out with our problems or given us ideas to continue on.

Although at the same time things look bleak, don't stop fighting. I also realize you have to do what is right for you too. If you do decide to take one last trip across the country, look me up here in Western PA. It would be a pleasure to meet you.

I know that it is a hard thing, to ask others for help. It also is a hard thing to stand on the sidelines and watch someone go down. I only know you within the bounds of this website, and the old iron we drive. Please let us do what we can to ease what ever trials you have in front of you. All you have to do is ask... . there are many here who will lend a hand.

I sit writing with tears in my eyes.

Dave

Terry, you are in my prayers, my friend. Don't ever give up. Thanks so much for all the help a few months ago when I called you about my rattling getrag. I am honored to have gained so much insight from you on the design trials and tests of this great truck that we all love. Best of luck on your treatment!

I would also be interested.

When were they manufacutred? Are they true NOS from the early 90s?

Thanks.

Jay

Are they even made yet, and what would be the price for 200? When were they made? Who made them? (Or who wants to make them, depending on interest and price?) Why not pass this "bargain" to the brotherhood - that's what I think most members would do if the deal was too good to turn down! Leonard asked simple questions that still haven't been answered, and could be answered simply. This is the third time asked. Sorry if this seems forward but. over the years, I've learned its best to get things out in the open. TIA

Read the whole thread, I think he has other things to worry about.

Nike I read the whole post. I just get nervous when someone repeatedly sounds the alarm bell and then tries to sell me something. Also I can't understand why someone would avoid simple questions like . . . When were they made? and By whom? Mysteryman expended a lot of energy expounding on the virtues of the original sach's clutch, but that was all extraneous info. since it seems we subsequently discovered that these are not originals. It seems we were being deterred from that discovery by extraneous info, questions like "Why do you ask?", and avoidance of simple questions.

Niki, I'm an old man too! That's why I keep my eyes open and ask questions. I'd still like to see Leonard's simple questions answered. Also, I wonder why, if it's a legitimate deal - one that genuinely exists - why not pass it on; particularly, if you feel you are in your last days? A number of members have expressed interest.

And by the way, I have no problem with eating my words, or my attitudes - won't be the first or last time! So please take no offence, young lady, and remember you are amidst a group of eccentric men. Thanks

By the way, James said he's seen recent posts indicating Mysteryman is feeling better, already. I hope so!

Some people @#^%$

I assure you Mr Fletcher. I am not feeling better at all. . Also be sure that I want to sell you nothing at all... The "alarm bells" that I sounded you would have done well to listen to. . You might also learn to not look a gift horse in the mouth. Your comments ****** me off to say the least. . I will be sure to put you on my list of people not to help in the future. .

As for everyone else... . Thank you for all of your kind words... It's nice to know I have some support out there. .

I was in the hospital last week. I came home Friday. I have been too sick to sit at the computer till now. They poked and prodded me. I have had every test under the sun and one surgery. . I have one 3 inch tumor and 20 plus smaller ones in the Lymphatic system. . They tell me that there is a chance that I will make it. . I start kemo and rad. treatment next week. It is going to be a long hard ride. . I am not sure if it is worth it or not. I owe it to my new dog Jerry to try. . I have all my affairs in order. I am leaving everything I own to a young man that has helped and been there for me for the past 10 years.

He never asked for or expected anything from me in those 10 years and has a passion for the same things in life that were important to me. .

As for the clutch deal... I did pass it on to a friend that had an import/export license. He needs them for his fleet. .

For now I won't be on much. It's going to get worse before it gets better.

I have seen several of my friends go threw this in the past. I know whets in store for me. If anyone is interested I will try to post my progress or perhaps regress when I can. .

Good luck to all of you and thank you for your support... ///Terry

Terry,

By all means, please keep us posted. If you don't want to do it on here, you can email me at -- email address removed -- . Is this young fellow that has been good to you, been on here yet? I hope that he will join us on here also. The more the merrier... ... ...

Good luck again for what is coming your way. You will be in my prayers.
