Oo. I have had a dull roaring noise when I accelarate rather hard. I just put a Bank's 4" exhaust on and now I have this noise at almost any speed particularly at the 70 mph and up range. I drive a lot of expressway driving and it is very annoying. I believe that it is from my turbo. Would this be a correct guess? Also if it is, is it liable to be a problem? Anybody who can help me. Thanks.

It's not your fan staying engaged is it. The turbo is a whiner not a roarer. Also, the 4 inch exhaust may be resonating causing the roar.

I can assure you the Banks exhaust is extremely annoying. I am getting ready to trash their POS muffler and go with a stocker like a Donaldson or something similar. You will probably wind up having to do the same.

I too have the Banks exhaust and it has a terrible drone at 1950 to 2400 rpm's. Been told that if you replace the muff with a staight pipe that it will eliminate the droan. But since I have had it I have gotten used to it and now I hardly notice it. Besides... . Banks wants too much money for a piece of 4" pipe. Wow, who would've guessed. Someday I will buy a five inch exhaust. :D

Do you find that it only occurs within a specific RPM range regardless of gear, and disappears both above and below that range? If so, I tend to agree that you're experiencing the exhaust resonance so many of us have. The trick is to put a resonator back in, stiffen the exhaust, or add an Epiflex connector as I have done. Do a search on resonance and see if that fits your symptoms.
