I will be installing new "Manly Man" Energy Suspension Bushingins this weekend to replace the wore out stock bushings. I have the entire set except the Cab mounts. I would like to get some tips or tricks that I might need to replace the bushings in the contol arms, front sway bar, and rear springs. I think this looks straight forward, but I really need torque specs if nothing else. Thanks in advance for your help.

How Much????

If you Y2K truck has worn bushings my 96 must really be soft.

Ball park on how much for the bushing set?

I just did the upper and lower control arm bushings this weekend. The job wasn't too bad except for getting the old bushings out. I used a torch to heat up the shell and they popped right out. The torque specs for a 96' were:

Upper axle bolt 89 ftlb in. upper frame bolt 110 ftlb in.

Lower axle bolt 110 ftlb in. lower frame bolt 150 ftlb in.

This made a big difference in the way my truck handles and rides!

The cost for the front bushings was $ 81. 00 from Central 4wheel drive.

Hope this helps.

David

Thanks for the help. I would like to get someone with a second gen service manual to confirm the torque specs.

I paid $200. 00 for all the bushings except the Cab mounts. They sounded like a lot of trouble to me. I do not remember where I ordered them. I can check that on Friday. I do have 125,000 on the truck so far.
