I'm getting closer to getting my suspension for my 01 truck. My choice is between Carli and Lorenz. I like both of there 3 inch with bypass shocks, but what I've never rode in either one. Can I get some input from those of you that have either suspension. I won't be going "Balls to the Wall" on my truck but I plan on keeping it for a long time. Oo.

If you are not going balls to the wall, I certainly don't think 3. 0s to be necessary. Definitely bypass shocks should not be on your menu. I doubt either Carli or Lorenz would try to sell you down that path. I just installed a KORE Chase system on my dads truck. 2. 0 shocks, and the truck rides great, on and offroad. It will last a long time too. I am sure your two aforementioned manufacturers have something similarly sized, that would work just splendid.

Agreed, except for the part of the Chase system offering a great ride on the road - KP and I seem to differ on that one. I've thought of wearing my moto kidney belt on the commute to work in Southern California. Although once you get offroad, the rougher it gets and the faster you go, the smoother the ride.

I have the 3" Carli,no bypass but do have frt bumps. That will put you in the should have a cage speed category :-laf

I would recommend giving Carli a jingle.

I haven't run into enough 2nd gen (pre 03) business to warrant a big order of components. With out a discounts on big orders I can't justify the expense, thus I would highly recommend Carli and his crew for a full 2nd gen kit.

Did I read that right?

Wow, straight up honesty - nice!

Thanks Sean for the input... I was leaning to get you product. Also Sean, I wasn't trying to start a Carli vs Lorenz war but just wanted to get input because I've never thought of spending this much money before on a suspension system and I wanted to know the ins and out of both systems. Thank you everyone for the input. Dwight

Please PM me. I am in San Diego. Your chase system should not ride that way what so ever. I will gladly help you free of charge to remedy your problem. You can either bring me the shocks or drop off your truck and I will handle it.

Let me know if I can help you.

Thanks,

Jason

I agree with KP. A well tuned 2. 0 system will work great for your situation.

You might try playing with the nitrogen charge pressure. It acts as a handy compression damping. More pressure might smooth out the road ride. It did on mine. I'm running about 280 psi in Bilstein 2. 0s

Are the Bilsteins rated to work @ 280 psi?

Just looking at the bilstein shock web site they are recommending 180-220 psi?

I'm running 280psi in my 2. 5 Sway a ways. I helps to to keep the cavitation down with the vavling I'm running.

Higher pressure increases spring rate by putting more pressure on the shock shaft. I'm not sure how your getting a smoother ride from that? It could corner better on the road, by eliminating body roll... tinman, we may be talking about the same thing but using different terms?
