2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission ? - Suspension Lift

I am looking for input on the best suspension lift for a 98 2500 automatic. Looking for about 3-4", do not want to go too high due to crappy lift laws here in PA. Can anyone give input.

Currently have a Skyjacker 4. 5" lift which has worked great for the past 20K miles. Really wanted a Dick Cepek lift, but they were out of production at the time. What ever you get, I'd recommend getting an aftermarket track bar like the DT and closely inspect the remainder of your front suspension and steering linkages as these will be seeing a lot more stress afterward.

I believe that the 1st listing of the poll is SKYjacker.

From what I've heard they seem to be the best.

I believe Rancho uses Japanese steel for thier springs.



Another good company is Superlift but when I do my Front end leveling I'll go with a set of replacement leveling Springs from Skyjacker.

Good point, I have to imagine that any product/company with that name would have changed it about 346 days ago

I looked at almost every lift kit on the market and went with Tuff-Country's 3" kit so I could retain my Snowplow front springs. None of the replacement lift springs were rated for snowplow duty. Look at ALL of the kits offered though,they each have good and bad points. It just depends on what you are looking for and your intended usage. If you call each manufacturer they can fax you the parts list of there kit so you can compare brands for yourself. Good luck,Thomas

Rancho is known for using crap steel in their springs, I've been told they use all types of scraps, all different grades, melt it down and make a spring. I've been involved in Jeeping for 16 years and every Rancho lift kit I have seen has settled much lower than competitors. #@$%! They make nice shock absorbers
