I GUESS IF WE DONT HAVE MINE DONE IN TIME TO GO, ILL GRACE MYSELF IN RIDING IN A SWEET 1ST GEN. !! Oo.

Good Luck with the transmission.

Norm Oo.

Yea Cant Wait To Have A Good transmission!! Only Now Im In The Market For A Turbo, Cause My Stock One Will Only Cook Hotter With Dave's Modded Triple Lock! :{

OK. Weather Channel looks pretty good for partly cloudy and high 40s low 50s for Sat. I've been tracking it for a few days.

Unless you all will need a pit stop in Christiansburg, it would probably be easier for all concerned to meet at the rest stop at the bottom of the mountain, just past the Ironto exit. I will plan for that, unless I hear different. This way, no chance of missing a turn around Exit 118. It is kind of screwed up there.

If you do want to plan a stop, there is the truck stop and another convenience store at the Ironto exit. Anyone wanting otherwise, please post here.

If I don't hear different, I will be at the Ironto rest stop on I-81 North, at 1145. It will take about 20 minutes to get to the Golden Corral from there.

If you need to contact me, my cell # is 540 just in case 230 programs scan for phone numbers 4303 I split it up. (just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean people aren't actually watching you)

so far im still planning to attend, i know exactly where the rest stop is Phil... The only thing right now is i am in full swing trying to get my tobacco to market and i don't want to leave pops hanging saturday, if something comes up, Phil i will call you on your cell... .

Meeting tomorrow

Just to let the group know i will not be able to attend tomorrow in roanoke :{ , i have another priority here at home which can't be put off, i hope all understands. . Ditto on having a great time! It was a great turnout and I think we can have some fun with this. Looks like it could grow to pretty fair size if we get the word out. I also want to commend Robbie for his leadership and direction for the group. It was "Presidential" to put it mildly! :-laf :-laf

Thanks especially to all of those that drove from faraway lands like North Carolina and Northern Virginia (is that a different state?)

I'm going to find a spot on the net to post all the pics. Here's a couple:

It was cool finally meeting more local dieselheads!

Since *some* didn't like 'Hot Rods' in the name, I changed it. I went through a long list of high- and low-falutin' possibilities.

- Diesel Cats, Mob, Band, Clan, Bunch, Crew, Crowd, Drove, Forces, Gang, Horde, Realm, Society, Dragoons, Brigade, Corps, Division, Squad, Cavalry, Drovers, Drift, Drifters, Roamers, Nomads, Tramps, Roadhouse, Nation, Rabble, Tribe, Crust, Set, Echelon, Union, Kin, Kindred, Kinship, Spirit, Regulars.

- United Diesel ... .

- Regular Diesel ... .

- Fraternal Order of the ...

Even considered Blue Ridge Country Light Oil Brigade

And ended up with this whimsically pretentious sample.

Sorry I Didnt Make It Guys Was Looking Forward To It. We Were Under My Truck Till 4 Am And Got Back Up At 9 Am To Go Back And Complete It! Man What A Difference That Goerend transmission Made!!! :d After Completing The transmission I Thought It Would Be A Good Time To Check The Balljoints Etc. Well... drivers Side Was Bad And The Hub Bearing Also-****. Got The Ball Joints Done And Sat. And Am Waiting On The Hub Assembly To Arrive Today.

Ill Be There Next Time!

Mike

Neal,

I was thinking about this on the way home. I liked Norm's license plate and thought that a good name might be Blue Ridge Rattlers. This is in line with the saying, "Real Trucks Rattle. " I also saw a webpage today that had one of those "Don't Tread on Me" flags. And playing into the old MoPar Super Bee theme, how about a Hot Rod Rattler. It projects the hot rod image, without saying it in words. And there sure enough are rattlers out in the Blue Ridge.

So I apologize for my feeble atempt at artwork, after your previous posts. But here is what I was seeing in my head. The mountains would be in the background and the logo possibly Blue Ridge across the top and Rattlers on the bottom. Possibly some flames coming off the tires.

***EDIT*** I almost forgot. There was some concern about using a blue oval as our background (you know, the same as the f*rd guys) so it could be a square or circle too.
