2nd Annual NoVA Meet & Greet 9/16/06

As far as a name is concerned, I prefer to stay

away from Rattler, because in my eyes it is a play off of those

guys on the other side of the Mississippi. Even though not intended by "us",

when listed in TDR, etc. others may view it as so.

My 2 few cents worth!!!!!!!

As with any great democratic society, I will go with the flow (majority).

HMMMM I'm thinking here

I like the Blue Ridge part but yes I do agree with BGDUMMY on the rattler part :( Should we stick with the three letter acronym BRR ? Say Rumblers? Kida sounds like a Harley group tho. I'll keep brainstorming.

  • Blue Ridge Runners - shades of Franklin County :)
  • Blue Ridge Sprinters - our trucks do like to sprint, but there's that new D/C van... .
  • Blue Ridge Bleaters - goes along with the Bighorn Sheep Ram theme (yes, the Dodge Ram logo is a bighorn sheep)
  • Blue Ridge Shearers - another sheep theme, but it reminds me of what the Irish farmer told me when I asked if he was shearin', when I saw him in a field wrestling with a sheep: "No! Gitcher own!"
  • Blue Ridge Brats - Blue Ridge Angels of Torque and Soot?
  • Blue Ridge Torque Devils
  • Blue Ridge Torque Angels - BRITA; you have to tell me which 3 Stooges short *that* comes from
  • Blue Ridge Torque Champs - BRITCHS
  • Blue Ridge Torque Near Y'all - BRITNEY
  • Blue Ridge Diesel Pickups Is Everywhere - BLUDPIE: a Klingon delicasy
  • Blue Ridge American Sporters - BRAS; well maybe not
  • Blue Ridge Diesel Enthusiasts - BRIDE; hmmm, wrong image
  • Blue Ridge Diesel Maniacs - BRDM: a Russian armored military vehicle
  • Blue Ridge Rattlin' Rams - BRRR; this one leaves me cold
  • Blue Ridge Oilers - BROS
  • Blue Ridge Ram Oilers - BURROS
  • Blue Ridge Rams In Turbo'd Soot - BURRITOS
  • Blue Ridge Rattlers - rolls off the tongue, is hard to make a diminutive acronym of it, has no ready connections to other types of automobiles (as would Wranglers and Ramblers, for instance, and even Rams), has no negative violence-related connotations (as would Rumblers and Gang), doesn't connote anti-environmental attitudes (as would Smokers or Sooters). Generally, it's socially acceptable, and with our unique logo, can't be confused with our brethren desert dwellers.

*Someone's* gotta have a bright idea or two!

I don't think Neal's a lawyer! At least we didn't get that impression when we met him at the first meeting! He could be... but if he is... . he's the best darn impersonator of an average TDR member I've ever seen!

Neal, great job on the names... I'm still laughing after reading them. Sounds sort of like an "upscale" version from Larry the Cable Guy! It will get us thinking... I do smell smoke, and it's not diesel smoke...

Scheisse! Mein kopf's on fire and mein arsche is ketchin'!

I wonder if this'll get past the censors... . :D

I'm not a lawyer, but I played one on TV once. I was shot to death in the opening scene by a dissatisfied client. Alas, the scene ended up on the cutting room floor.

went through your list there Neal, tell you what i like *Blue Ridge Brats* Blue Ridge Angels of Torque and Soot... i honestly can't think of any right at the moment, if i do i will post them

I had a thought this morning, not the ground shaking kind, since real trucks rattle and some don't like rattler, hows about Blue Ridge Clatters.

And it was a joke to call Neal a lawyer the way he came up with the diff's, and acronyms of all the names he came up with. I thouhgt it was pretty neat.

I guess I am going to have to change my user name, my license plate and

my web address. :{ :{ :{ :{ " Keep Dreaming ":-laf

Oh i like those names guys, me being a civil war nut... . I have to say Brigade stands out to me... Plus it has alot to do with us Native born Blue Ridger's background, think we may be on to something Oo.

Blue Ridge Turbo Diesel Brigade, (Mechanized Regiment) As we do trips, runs, etc. for activities, a large group of trucks could look like a Brigade of trucks rattlin', rumblin', smokin', etc. down the road... The logo Neal has would look good with the BRTDB on it.

I like the idea of the (family) crest with the turbo and crossed wrenches. We could even get patches made up if we wanted, and even have hats with the logo on the front, and the crest on the back... or whatever... .

All sounds good to me...
